OOTD V

It’s been a long time since I did an OOTD post. I find spring an awkward time of year to wear nice clothes. The mornings are often chilly and the afternoons are often hot, so it’s all about layers. I haven’t been *in love* with my outfits so far this spring but I’m starting to try and step up my wardrobe a bit and also go out of my comfort zone more. Here are a few outfits I’ve worn in the last couple of months!

***

This is one of my favourite casual Friday outfits. Super comfy but still office appropriate!

Top: Costco. Scarf: Ricki’s. Jeans: Warehouse one. Shoes: TOMS.

This outfit was from about a month ago and the first time I wore capri’s this season!

Top: Ricki’s. Capri’s: Ricki’s. Cardigan: Costco. Shoes: TOMS.

I didn’t wear this outfit to a regular work day. About a month ago Eric and I had a formal dinner event to go to for my work so this is my formal/dressy attire!

Dress: Winners. Necklace: Stella & Dot. Shoes: Le Chateau.

One of my very favourite work dresses! I wear this dress A LOT in the summer.

Dress: Joe Fresh (from Superstore).

I really like this outfit! My mom actually picked all these things out for me when she was visiting a few weeks ago. The shirt has little ruffles on it that you can’t really see and I’m also wearing a knit cardigan (that you can’t really see because both it and the shirt are black!

Another dress picked out for me by my mom. I was seriously unsure about this dress at first but the consensus on Twitter was that people liked it and I might want to consider adding a wide black or brown belt next time to break up the pattern, which I think I will try. I got a lot of compliments the day I wore this dress so I guess it’s a keeper!

Dress: Winners. Flats: Shoe Warehouse.

I LOVE this new blazer that I just got! They actually had a bunch of coloured ones there so I might go back and pick up a few more in different colours. It’s a fun way to add a pop of colour to a business-casual outfit!

As spring turns into summer my wardrobe will morph to lots of dresses, skirts and capri’s! I can’t wait for summer!

What kinds of things are you wearing lately? Do you find spring a hard season to dress stylish in?

OOTD: III

Why hello there! How was everyone’s week? Mine was great! Super busy and a bit overwhelming but great nonetheless.I don’t really have much content for you today but I have been saving up my OOTD (outfit of the day) posts again so thought I’d share. You can see my last two OOTD posts here.

I went on a huge shopping spree last week when Eric and I were wandering around the mall and stumbled on a huge sale in one of my favourite stores. I got a new blazer, slacks, four work shirts, a cardigan and two necklaces for $150! The blazer alone was marked down from $90 to $20. Whoo! I was quite pleased with myself after that sale.

Anyways, moving on to some recent OOTD’s :)

I wore this a few weeks ago. Look, boots that aren’t my Steve Madden ones! I feel like this outfit was a bit “old” for me but I do really like the cute ruffle on the back of that skirt.

Tank top: Rick’s. Shirt: Gap. Skirt: Suzy Shier. Tights: London Drugs. Boots: Payless. Necklace: Ricki’s.

One of my favourite blouses that I own. It is one of those shirts that does not look good at all on the hanger but fits really well. I’ve had it for a few years now and always feel great whenever I wear it!

Top: Suzy Shier. Slacks: Reitmans. Necklace: Florence, Italy :)

A random outfit I threw together one morning. I actually forgot that I even had that black sweater/cardigan thing. Isn’t finding clothes in the back of your closet that you forgot you had the best?

Cardigan: Ricki’s. Top: Suzy Shier. Slacks: Ricki’s.

One of my favourite and most comfy outfits as of late! This one will be making a regular reappearance on casual Friday’s!

Jeans: Bootlegger. Shirt: Walmart. Cardigan: Target.

One of the results of my shopping spree referenced above was this green shirt! This is actually a weekend outfit for me and I wore it last Friday night when we hosted our neighbour for dinner (which is the only reason I’m not wearing yoga pants instead. Ha. Weekends = workout clothes for me usually).

Top: Ricki’s. Jeans: Warehouse One.

The outfit I wore on the first day of my new job. This top and the necklace you can kind of see were also both from the above referenced shopping spree.

And one more, also from the above mentioned shopping spree. This top was the only thing I bought that wasn’t on sale and it’s an outfit Eric actually picked out for me while he sat there waiting for me to try on clothes for an hour, ha. I already had a white cardigan similar to the one in the store though so just recreated it at home!

Look at that, all pant outfits and my Steve Madden boots didn’t even make an appearance :) I have worn my two sweater dresses in the last couple of weeks just didn’t bother sharing them on the blog since everyone has already seen them!

What’s your favourite outfit that you’ve worn lately? What kinds of clothes / outfits do you wear on the weekends? I am always SUPER casual on the weekends unless I have plans or we’re having someone over.

OOTD’s: Take II

My last OOTD (outfit of the day) post was pretty popular so I’ve been compiling photos again over the last couple weeks to do another one! Enjoy ;)

***

Another semi-casual Friday outfit with jeans! I love that top I’m wearing under my cardigan. When I was in university and frequented the bars regularly I would wear it all. the. time.

Shirt: Ricki’s. Jeans: Warehouse One. Cardigan: Walmart.

The only super professional outfit I own. I actually don’t own a single full business suit but I think this two piece one works nicely for when I need to be dressy or more professional than normal. No head in this shot since I took it outside of instagram and then when I instagrammed it I had to cut my head out to get the whole outfit in there! That blazer was also one of the most expensive pieces of clothing I own ($100 for just the blazer!) but I think it’s one of those classic pieces that I’ll have forever so I guess it was a good investment!

Photo 319

Blouse: Walmart. Blazer: Zara. Slacks: Ricki’s. Boots (that you can’t really see): Walmart.

My first day back to work after being sick a couple weeks ago was ALL about comfort. Hence, leggings as pants were on deck. I did wear a shirt that covered my butt, don’t worry ;)

Photo 324

Top: Ricki’s. Leggings: Lululemon wunder unders. Boots: Steve Madden.

This outfit was inspired by this outfit that I pinned on Pinterest! At first I didn’t like it as much but now looking at this photo again I am pretty happy how it turned out.

Photo 323

Blouse: Joe Fresh. Top: can’t remember! Slacks: Ricki’s. Boots: Steve Madden. Necklace: Stella & Dot.

Really not a fan of this outfit. I found it way too dark. I love that turtleneck top that I have but I wish it was a brighter colour since all my pants are dark and I hate wearing dark clothes head to toe. You can also really tell how DIRTY my mirror is in this photo. Ha! Please ignore that ;)

Photo 322

Top: Target. Slacks: Ricki’s. Boots: Steve Madden. Necklace: Stella & Dot.

My favourite sweater dress and my favourite boots. LOVE this outfit. I had put off wearing this sweater dress and boots together for weeks since I didn’t think the colours would go together at all but I tried them on last Friday and LOVE how it looks. I think this will be a new go-to outfit for me.

Photo 320

Dress: Calvin Klein (from Winners). Tights: London Drugs. Boots: Steve Madden.

And of course I’ve saved the best for last. I mean, obviously this is by far my most stylish outfit from the last few weeks…

Photo 321

Ha. I threw this on when I came home from my run last Wednesday night and then realized how ridiculous I looked. I was EXTREMELY comfortable though ;)

Thoughts: OK, this post has showed me I need to branch out from my beloved Steve Madden boots and wear some other boots or shoes more often. I currently wear my Steve Madden boots three or four times a week. I also desperately need more flattering sweater dresses as the sweater dress + boots combo is by far my favourite outfit but I spent WEEKS looking for a sweater dress that fit me that well!

Questions of the day: What’s your favourite outfit from the past couple of weeks? Anyone else where totally random, and bright coloured, outfits when at home?
