Five for Friday
One.
I took the day off work today to get some serious painting and packing done but I actually plan to spend the morning relaxing, doing freelance work and going to a yoga class. I will get to the house eventually, but after spending every day this week working all day and then painting until 11 at night I needed a relaxing morning.
Also? I’m so over painting.
Two.
I really wasn’t planning on even touching wedding planning until the house stuff settled down. But I couldn’t help doing a little bit of googling. Basically in the week since we got engaged we’ve decided to have a “destination wedding” on B.C.’s Sunshine Coast – so a destination the majority of our guests can drive to
But, then I realized resorts in that area book up FAST (one that I kind of love is already booked every Saturday from May – September 2012). So now we are looking at booking a venue asap (within the next month probably) and we are considering the possibility of a week day wedding (I’m leaning towards a Thursday right now)!

Three.
My first race of the season is this Sunday. A 10K. I would love to PR (under 57:42) but I’m really just excited to run a race again and for this racing season to start! Spring truly is in the air here lately and the longer and sunnier the days are the more I want to run!
Four.
I really, really, really love our house. We’ve never lived anywhere even close to that size but I am loving make it our own and planning what we’re going to do with each room. I’m so glad that we ended up with an older townhouse that we can put all of our own touches on and that has some character to it
Five.
Yesterday I went for a 4.5 mile run at lunchtime and it was fantastic. It was so great to get away from my desk for 45 minutes and just clear my head. The downside is we don’t have showers at my office so I just had to towel off in the bathroom, but I felt like I cleaned up pretty good afterwards and I’m hoping to make lunchtime runs part of my routine at least 1-2 times per week.

Five on Friday

Oh looky here. My favourite weekly series is making another appearance!
One.
That? That right up above there is a chai tea latte(ish) with egg nog. I say “ish” because I attempted to make it myself by boiling the egg nog on the stove but it didn’t get very foamy or latte-ish. Still super yummy, though!
Two.
I know I told you we were only casually looking at real estate. But you all know what happens when you start casually looking right? You eventually find something you really like. Really-really-like. Start-picturing-yourself-living-there-like. Start-telling-everyone-about-how-perfect-this-place-is-for-you-like. Start-getting-all-your-ducks-in-a-row-so-you-can-make-an-offer-like.
And then? Well then, of course someone else beats you to it and puts an offer in before you. And, of course that offer gets accepted. Bye-bye perfect townhouse
I’m pretty disappointed about it and I really hope another “perfect” place comes along soon!
Three.
In the last couple days Kamloops has had SO MUCH SNOW. Like, 10+ cm worth. It’s kind of beautiful and kind of making me really excited for Christmas. But, you know what’s not beautiful? Winter driving. That’s what. Also, the fact that I live in a cul-de-sac, which means the snow plow pushes all of the snow into our cul-de-sac blocking my car in OR blocking me out from my parking spot. That’s not beautiful either.
I bet the arm muscles I get from all the shovelling will be beautiful though, right?
Four.
How is it December next week? I can distinctly remember thinking “holy crap, September flew by faster than any month yet this year.” And then “holy crap, October flew by even faster than September”. Well, you guessed it; I am now thinking “where the hell did November even go??”
Five.
I am loving Hot Yoga soo much lately. I feel like it really is making me a calmer person. I recently cancelled my membership at the YMCA and plan on getting a (much cheaper) membership at the indoor track for the winter. I think I’m going to focus on running + hot yoga this winter. I have some big race plans for the spring, but you’ll just have to wait awhile to find out what they are

1.
Two words: Bruschetta pizza. Make it immediately.
2.
My foot still hurts….BUT not as much as it did on Monday or even Tuesday. Not even close to as badly. That’s good right?!
Yes, yes, I’m going to the doctor today. I attempted to go on Wednesday but I put it off too long and the walk-in clinic was full. I’m just scared the doctor will say it’s a stress fracture. But better to know then not know right? Right!
3.
I think I have post-marathon blues. I just feel really bummy and down lately. Part of it is probably because I am missing out on the endorphins that I get from exercise and running. But I also think its the fact that I spent four months thinking about and training for this one day and now it’s over. I started writing my “what’s next” post yesterday and it made me feel really sad that the marathon is over even though it was so freaking hard. So I’m postponing that post until next week. I think that once I do get to run again I will feel better but I obviously can’t do that until my foot is 100%.
4.
When my Dad was here on Tuesday night he bought the first two seasons of ‘The Big Bang Theory’ for us to watch since he loves that show. And you know what? It’s friggin hilarious! We have been watching it pretty much non-stop since Tuesday and are half-way through the 2nd season.
5.
I have pretty much nothing planned this weekend. It’s kind of exciting but also kind of scary. We all know how I like to keep my calendar booked up!
Have a great weekend!!
