J at Morning Runner tagged me to do the 21 things post so here it is!
One.
It really bugs me when people say they wish they had the time to do _____. (I get I wish I had the time to run or do yoga a lot). We all have the same number of hours in the day and we all choose – more or less – how to use them. Sometimes you have to MAKE the time!
Two.
Some of my newer readers might not know this but Eric and I have actually known each other since we were 5 and 6. We were sat together in grade 9/10 science class. I remember this but he doesn’t. Pffft.
Three.
Twitter > Facebook in my world, however I will probably never delete Facebook because I use it to stay in touch with A LOT of people. It’s how I got 90% of the addresses for the save the dates!

Four.
I spent 6 years of my life playing hockey and I was a goalie for 5 of those 6 years! I played with girls and boys. I used to really love the sport but I think I burned myself out on it in high school as I have no desire to play again. It’s the only sport I enjoy watching though and I think that’s because I understand all the rules really well. I think understanding the rules can make a big difference in whether or not you enjoy watching a sport!
Five.
Eric and I first became “boyfriend and girlfriend” on February 5, 2005. This February it will be seven years since that night. I can hardly believe it because I still remember it so vividly!
Six.
I have a degree in Journalism with a major in Public Relations. I’m currently working in marketing and communications so I am applying a lot of the skills I learned in university. I also do freelance writing on the side.

Seven.
I’ve had this nagging urge at the back of my mind for almost a year now to become a yoga instructor. Not full-time or anything, but get certified and maybe teach part-time on the side. It’s something I plan to do one day when I have the money and can make the time. And also when I figure out what kind of yoga I want to get certified in!
Eight.
I don’t have any allergies or food intolerances! I have several friends with both so I feel very fortunate not to have any.
Nine.
Nine is my absolutely favourite number. My birthday is 09/09 and I’ve always had an attachment to this number, even more-so now that we are also getting married on the 9th!
Ten.
I am a huge animal lover. I wanted to be a veterinarian as a child and my pets bring me more joy than I could ever describe.

Eleven.
I love to travel. LOVE it. I would rather spend my money on trips, travel and experiences than anything else so I make putting money into our “fun and trips” savings account a big priority in our budget.
Twelve.
Other than a mortgage and one car loan (and a very small amount of credit card debt, like under $1,000) Eric and I have no debt. I’m really proud of us for being at this place in our lives. We’re extremely lucky to be here due to a variety of external factors (hi mom and dad!) but we also aren’t stupid with money and we don’t buy things we don’t have the cash to pay for.
Thirteen.
I did not have any of our wedding planned before getting engaged. I used to daydream about my wedding all the time of course but it was vastly different every time. I would dream about a beach wedding in Mexico, a backyard wedding in my hometown and everything in between. I’m really happy with how our wedding is coming together though even if it’s not something I’ve always dreamed of or had planned out.
Fourteen.
Eric is born on the 14th of November and his birthday (14) plus mine (9) = 23. Ever seen that movie? Kind of freaky!

Fifteen.
I really do love running! I know some people want to love running, but I feel so lucky to have truly fallen in love with it after I started back in 2009. I cannot imagine my life without my weekly runs and make sure to fit them into my schedule even when I’m not training for a race.
Sixteen.
The closest thing I’ve found to a “runners high” is how I feel after a hot yoga class. No other workout quite does it for me like running and hot yoga.
Seventeen.
I really want to write a book one day. That’s all I know though. I don’t know if I want to write fiction or non-fiction nor do I have a storyline figured out. I just know that “write a book” is on my life goal list.

Eighteen.
I still remember my 18th birthday like it was yesterday. How has it been five years? (picture above is from my19th birthday, which I also remember like it was yesterday, because I sadly don’t have a single photo from my 18th!)
Nineteen.
I have a HUGE sweet tooth. Huge. It is so so hard for me to resist having something sweet after both lunch and dinner. But especially after dinner. I am trying to convert to having tea or mandarin oranges but I still have chocolate/dessert at least 3-5 nights a week!
Twenty.
I had many self-confidence issues when I was in middle school and high school. If only I’d known that my 20′s would be the best years of my life (so far!) I know a lot of people say their twenties were hard but so far mine have been pretty great and have just been getting better and better.

Twenty-one.
I actually don’t know how to play the real game “21″ and have no interest in gambling at all. I’ve gone to the casino a few times but I don’t find it fun and look at it more like ‘I’m throwing money away’ than ‘I might win big’. Can you tell that I’m SO not the kind of person who buys lottery tickets? I think I’ve bought maybe 2 or 3 in my whole life. I’d rather spend the $10 on a couple of lattes.

Whewie! I’ve been drafting this post for well over a week. Thinking of 21 things can be hard!! I am not going to tag anyone to do this but to anyone who decides to I say “good luck”
Questions of the day: What’s your favourite number? Did you learn anything new about me? Do you play the lottery?
Seven Links
OK, so *technically* I wasn’t “tagged” to do this meme but it’s floating around the blog world, it’s fun, and I want to do it so I am anyways. #rebel
This seven links idea originated from Trip Base! Bloggers are identifying one old post of theirs from each of the following categories:
- Your most beautiful post
- Your most popular post
- Your most controversial post
- Your most helpful post
- A post whose success surprised you
- A post you feel didn’t get the attention it deserved
- The post that you are most proud of
Here I go!
Most Beautiful Post: This was the hardest one to come up with! I am going with Six months, 1,000 kilometres. Being in a long-distance relationship with Eric for six months was SO HARD but we came out stronger than ever and now we’re getting married (another beautiful post!)
Most popular post: After almost three years of blogging, How a Book Changed the Way I Eat is by far my most visited blog post with over 1,500 page views.
Most controversial post: Love, Fate, Choices, Soul Mates and Coincidence is STILL getting thoughtful comments added to it 1.5 years after I wrote it. It also led to another very controversial post when I asked my readers to help another reader out.
Most helpful post: Recovering from an injury OR So you wanna try hot yoga?
Post whose success surprised you: Hands down, Aren’t women supposed to stick together? I mean, the BBC called me for an interview after this post. I was SHOCKED!
Post you didn’t feel got the attention it deserved: Veggie Moms, Running and Writing – I was surprised not more people had something to say about raising kids vegetarian!
Post you are most proud of: My Portland Marathon Race Report. This race was ugly for me and I really laid it out in the race report. It brings tears to my eyes when I go back and re-read it because now that I’m almost a year removed from the race I can finally see what an amazing accomplishment that race was, especially finishing the last 2 miles with a torn tendon in my foot and running for 4:45 in the pouring rain!
I usually don’t tag people in these memes but I think it’s a fun one and I’d like to see others do it so I’m going to tag five bloggers. Hope you guys do it
- Kelly at She Wears a Red Sox Cap
- Lisa at Lisa’s Yarns
- Leigh at The Best Thing is Love
- Aron at Runners Rambles
- Kristen at Inspired by Dooce

Wine and Love I
I am participating in one of my favourite bloggers weekly series today: Wine and Love! With this series bloggers share what things from the week are making them reach for the wine and what things are filling their hearts with love.
Side note: I totally DID reach for the wine last night only to discover the bottle we’d opened just over a week ago had gone sour. Sad, sad night!
Wine:
- Being so, so, so busy I can hardly stand it. I can see that I’m going to have to start prioritizing (aka dropping some things) if I want to stay sane.
- Getting our windows replaced at the beginning of this week. It actually is a good thing because we have super nice NEW windows now that mean we can’t hear someone walking in high heels outside or be kept up at all hours by the partying college kids in our complex. But it was just a major disruption of our lives and made our house super dusty and dirty.
Love:
- Starting a new TV series with Eric last night (Prison Break!) I love it when we watch TV series together!
- Booking my flight home at the end of June. I am going home for 5 days for my “little” brothers high school graduation!
- Coffee. I’ve had coffee the last SIX days in a row. And I love it. I will not have any tomorrow though, promise.
- Starting a new really fast-paced, but also really fun and exciting project, at work. The days are flying by and I’m really enjoying the new challenges.
What’s on your list this week?
