The high of my week was picking the above harvest from my garden! Gardening has been such a fun and rewarding hobby this summer. Now I just need to figure out what to do with the squash! Any suggestions??

The low of my week was a few things… Honestly, it hasn’t been the best week. Some work stuff has been weighing on me, my back has been really sore and I haven’t been sleeping well and have felt really tired and low energy this week. So ya, not my best week ever… BUT next week is Eric’s week off and I’m on holidays. We’re going fishing and camping with family in the mountains and I’m really looking forward to it!

A podcast episode I loved was yet another old Girls Next Door episode! This podcast has been around since 2014 and I am listening to ALL their episodes since the beginning (I love binge listening to podcasts as much as I love binge watching TV shows!) I loved both this episode about cleaning and this episode about marriage. Both are from 2015!

For my workouts, I completed a gentle yoga class on Monday evening, this cardio interval Fitness Blender workout on Tuesday morning, a 30-minute swim on Wednesday morning, rest day on Thursday and today I am going to my favourite 6:15am yoga class! Not the best week of workouts, but I will do 1-2 more Fitness Blender workouts this weekend. Oh, and of course I walked 10,000+ steps each day as I’m still going strong on my 10k steps per day!

The best money I spent was putting money in savings! Ha! How boring, right?! But in actuality, I really didn’t spend any money this week but I did get paid and every time I get paid I immediately put a chunk in savings – feels good to pay myself first! Especially since during my year of maternity leave I will pretty much have to cut out savings to make our budget work. Also we will spend plenty of money next week while away. Camping is always more expensive than you think it will be!

My plans this weekend include going to yoga, mowing the lawn, doing laundry and packing for our trip next week. We are leaving on Monday morning as soon as Eric gets off his night shift. Since he’ll be working all weekend, it will be up to me to get ready for our trip! I am also hoping to get some decent sleep in as I’ve been really tired lately. I’m guessing that’s just going to be par for the course though as I move into the third trimester of pregnancy…

What did you complete for workouts last week and what was the best thing you spent money on?

  1. Ok you can not say that that was not the best week of workouts!! You did quite a bit considering you aren’t feeling a lot of energy! It might be different from what you did in the past, but for someone who is almost in the 3rd trimester, I think that is a solid week of workouts!

Here’s an idea for your zucchini squash: http://iowagirleats.com/2013/06/10/farmers-market-vegetable-lasagna/ Or you could just saute it with some spices as a side. Or cut it into planks, put some EVOO, s&p on it and grill it. Or cut it up and put it in a foil packet on the grill. I love zucchini and squash as side dishes!

My workouts were non-existent this week. I hit 10k steps twice, I think, but in general I took it very easy thanks to my stupid RA flare and just not feeling all that well in general. I am looking forward to an active weekend of camping, though! We’ll do hikes today, tomorrow and Sunday!

The best money I spent was on some basic tops at a 50% off 5 items sale at Banana Republic. I have so many pairs of pants but not a lot of tops to choose from. I am the boringest shopper though as I got one top in 2 colors (navy & black) and another sweater in 3 colors (gray, navy and black). Boring! But It’s nice to have some basic colors that go with a lot of things. And with fall on the horizon, I’m shifting more towards wintery colors.

I agree with Lisa – that sounds like a great week of workouts! I haven’t been sleeping well either, thanks to Dutch keeping me up. Here’s hoping this weekend will be restful!

For my workouts, I did a BodyPump class, two spin classes, and some cardio on the elliptical. And I’m doing another spin class tomorrow!

The best money I spent was on new blog hosting! It was a significant investment, but is totally worth it. Although, right now, my blog is not showing any posts since the new host has to migrate my content over from my old host, so that’s slightly terrifying. Ha.

What kind of squash is it? I would slice it and bake it or bbq it with other veggies.
We spent a lot of money in Vancouver so this week I have spent none! Holidays are always $$.
I hope you guys have a great week off!!

Because my memory is terrible, have you purchased any of the fitness blender programs? I’ve been thinking about it, but can’t decide. Hope you had a great weekend!

  5. Sorry to hear you didn’t have the best week, but you’ll make up for that with a wonderful camping trip! Camping in the mountains sounds awesome!!! I’ve never done that before!

I hope you feel a little better on vacation and enjoy spending some time with Eric!
