Review of 24!

Today is my 25th birthday.

My birthday kind of snuck up on me this year. We had such a busy summer that all of a sudden it was kind of here. I had a moment of panic last week thinking that for 25, being kind of a ‘monumental’ age, I should really do something big and special and what not. But I didn’t really have the energy to plan much. Last week my friend Katie took me out for an early birthday lunch, today Jen is taking me out for my actual birthday lunch, Eric and I visited our local winery yesterday afternoon for a picnic and some quality time together and tonight my mom is cooking me dinner. Nothing too terribly big or exciting. But I definitely feel pretty darn loved. And it’s the small things in life that really make the difference, right?

Anyways, as has been tradition on my blog, it’s time for my annual yearly review. Here is 21, 22 and 23, which were super fun for me to read before writing this post.

When I was 24 I…

Completed my second 30 day hot yoga challenge.

Helped lead a half-marathon clinic at the Running Room.

Had an extremely busy (but also fulfilling and awesome) fall at work.

Spent Christmas Day in Kamloops with Eric and his parents. We hosted Christmas (albeit a small one) for the first time.

Ended 2012 feeling tired.

Gave up sugar for 6 weeks.

Had a girls shopping weekend to Vancouver and Bellingham (main goal was to get bridesmaid dresses for Jen’s wedding but A LOT of shopping happened).

Visited Cancun, Mexico and had an amazing 5 days laying on the beach, drinking pina colada’s and going scuba diving!

Started back at Crossfit.

So to sum it all up; three big trips including one international one, lots and lots of running, races and all around being active (and most of the running and races I did were with friends!), two awesome concerts and many many days and nights with amazing friends. Not a bad 25th year!

It’s been a really unbelievable year. A bit of bad. A lot of good. I had a lot of fun this year and especially this past summer. I have high hopes for this next year too. We are currently saving money for another big trip in the spring and our lives have the potential for some big changes when Eric finishes school and starts looking for work next year. You just never know what can happen and a lot can change in a year.

So here’s to today. The present moment! And to 25. It feels pretty good to have a lot of possibilities ahead of us!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Aw I wish I was there to “surprise” you at work haha. I have no idea what they’re doing, but it is always a great “surprise”! You have had a pretty awesome year and you’re right – a lot can change and probably will which I think will be awesome and exciting for you. In terms of celebration – as long as you feel loved and happy and are doing what you want, that’s the best kind of celebration. Have a fun day! Lots of love, miss you.
