How is it February already?! Wow. This month has flown by even though it wasn’t especially busy. Time to recap my January goals and set some new ones for February!
January Goals Recap:
Goal #1: Quit eating sugar. This has been a big success for me. I’ve blogged about it here and here but overall I am really happy that I decided to do this. I’ve lost a tiny bit of weight but most importantly I feel good. However, I will see week 4 has been the worst week for cravings yet, I’d give my right arm for a baked good right now.
Goal #2: Yoga 4x per week. Huge success again! I’ve been averaging about five practices a week actually and I’m feeling amazing and stronger every time.
Goal #3: P90X. This is somewhat of a fail. We did it for two weeks and then our schedules started clashing (Eric has big breaks some days and prefers to work out then or later at night and I prefer to workout in the morning or right after work). I am still lifting 1-2 times per week though and will do P90X DVD’s randomly.
Goal #4: No Alcohol for 6 weeks. Major fail. I made it a whopping 12 days before the hankering for a glass of wine won out! I’ve had maybe 4-5 glasses of wine total in the last month though which is a lot less than normal!
Goal #1: Instituting a regular bedtime! I kind of started this in January but didn’t follow it strictly. In February I want to be in bed by 9:30 PM and lights out by 9:45 PM Sunday – Thursday nights. I also want to get up at 5:15 AM Monday through Friday. Some mornings it will be for a yoga class or run but sometimes it will be just to take Chloe for an early morning walk. Getting up at 5:15 is definitely easier when I go to bed on time (go figure!)
Goal #2: Read 5 books. We are going to Mexico in two weeks so hopefully I will have no problem meeting this goal as I envision lots of laying on the beach and reading in Mexico, preferably with a pina colada beside me!
Goal #3: Daily Yoga. Whether it’s a class at one of the two studios I frequent or 5 minutes spent doing sun salutations first thing in the morning. My big goal for this month is doing yoga every day. I feel so much better after increasing the amount I’ve been doing and my strength has increased a lot in the last month, especially when it comes to the sun salutations.
Goal #4: Have an awesome time in Mexico! Eric and I are in desperate need of a vacation so I cannot wait to get away with him to Mexico in 16 sleeps! I tend to be a worrier on vacations. Constantly thinking about money and checking prices. I really want to let go for the five days we’re in Mexico and not stress or worry about anything. Just have fun and be in the present!
