Our Townhouse – AFTER

I don’t have time to edit these photos (I just took them this morning) but here are the “After” photos of the townhouse.

We’re not 100% done yet, but we start moving in this afternoon and then it’s going to be chaos for a few weeks while we get settled. So I wanted to share photos before the chaos ensues!

Check out THIS POST for the Before photos. I recommend you open it in one window and flip back and forth between the two. I’m amazed and proud we (mostly Eric ;) ) have made such a difference to the house in just over a week!

Entryway:

Changes:  Painted it beige (our main colour throughout) and painted the doors white.

Up Staircase #1: We still need to paint and put the banister back on.

Now for the BIG changes.

Living Room: Notice how it’s no longer that horrendous orange?

Dining Room (aka where the living room and kitchen meet)

Kitchen: I couldn’t be happier with the red we chose. I LOVE IT.

Main Bathroom: This room isn’t done, the blue still needs some touch-ups and that mirror needs to be hung (we also will replace that light fixture at some point AND paint the cupboards white) but I’m REALLY happy with how it’s coming along and I love the blue!

Spare Bedroom: Honestly? I’m not 100% happy with this colour. The yellow did NOT go on well and after 3 coats it still needs touch-ups. I think that I will end up repainting over this but definitely not until this summer (or maybe next summer. Lol)

Master Bedroom: Holy man I love this room. I could not be happier with how it turned out!

Bathroom #2: Still a work-in progress. The blue (same blue as main bathroom the lighting just makes it look different) needs to be touched up in a lot of places and that shower door needs to be fixed :) Better get on that since we have guests (my Dad and Brother) coming Monday and this will be the “guest bathroom”

A few things we are still in the process of doing?

Replacing all the outlets since the idiots before us decided to paint directly over them.

Scrubbing paint off the floor (oh how I regret not covering every inch with plastic…)

We get our u-haul at 4:00 PM today and – if all goes well – will be sleeping in the new house tonight!

Woohoo!

The last 1.5 weeks have been insane and the exhaustion has totally caught up with me (I have some serious undereye circles going on) so I’m really looking forward to getting SETTLED in the new house and then doing some relaxing!!

Have a great weekend! XO

Hope everything goes well with the move! We’re starting the actual move today too. Should be a hectic, but fun weekend for us both :)

  6. AshleyD says:

It looks awesome! I especially love the grey in the living room and the colors in the master. Congrats!

  7. Love the colours you chose! So much better than the ones from the previous owners. And it all goes well with the flours/cabinets. Very nice.

  8. Blogger party at Amber’s!!!!!

  9. Oh how I feel your pain – I insisted on painting all of the rooms in my house before I moved in too! We spent WEEKS going over there every day after work. (Long story, but it was my dad’s house before we bought it & the colors he had, while nice, reminded me of him too much to keep them…along with lots of other stuff that was still in there…)

Sadly, we’ve repainted our bedroom THREE times already (once two weekends in a row because the first color was not what we expected) and have done the bathroom twice due to a little mishap – the orange we picked made us look like oompa-loompas from Willy Wonka when we turned the light on!

Needless to say, I’m ready to change things up again in the living room but I don’t have the strength to do it again!

OMG, huge high five on the painting. So feel your pain on the clean up…just when you think you’re a pro and don’t need to cover up (or you’re just too lazy/frustrated/exhausted/distracted) it gets everywhere!

What are the colour name/brand? I love the living room (grey/green) and the beige hallways.

  11. paige says:

PS. I’m thinking of investing in a paint sprayer…I’m serious. Looks like I can get at Home Depot for about $200. I’d pay 5 times that to get my place finished!

  12. paige says:

PPS. Really? Still snow in Kamloops? I thought it was only us Peggers still suffering through winter.

    • MissAmber says:

HAHAHA. I adore all your comments.

Also, it just snowed YESTERDAY. It had been beautiful and 10-13 C for a week before that. All the snow was gone. I am not impressed!

  13. Kyla Roma says:

So beautiful!! I especially love your bathroom’s teal! :)

  14. erin says:

especially love the living room (i’m partial to the greys now!) and the bedroom. Oh we haven’t even touched our bedroom – shame! because i have the perfect color picked out!

  15. Becky says:

What an amazing transformation! Good luck with the move this afternoon and once you’re in there, just take it one room at a time while unpacking. Otherwise you’ll get overwhelmed and feel like you’ll never finish. (I recommend the kitchen and bedroom first!) You guys are painting rockstars!

  16. Lisa says:

nice! i’m getting ready to paint my kitchen. i’m already wishing it was done and i haven’t even applied any paint yet!

  17. Leigh says:

  28. You and I have similar taste in color schemes… love it!

  48. Stefanie says:

Awesome colors! I love the mirror in your bathroom. White frames are awesome!

  49. A fresh splash of color, even neutral ones, really brighten up any room. Of course, my favorite has to be the bathroom, because I’m kind of in love with bold colors!

  50. Carissa says:

Wow! looks good! Glad the orange is gone! I love the bathroom color!

  51. Caitlin says:

This is awesome! You guys did such a good job. That orange with the border was truly heinous. You’re smart homebuyers for being able to see past it!
