We bought a townhouse!
Sooo, on top of all the other stuff I was doing over the last couple of weeks, we were also in the process of buying a townhouse
I kept mum about it on here, on Twitter and on Facebook because I didn’t want to jinx it! But after we signed off on all subjects on Saturday (despite having a few more hoops to jump through over the weekend and yesterday) I couldn’t keep my mouth shut any longer so I posted this semi-spontaneous tweet Saturday afternoon:

And then I kept quiet about it for two days until all the rest of the paperwork was signed, hoops jumped through and ducks put in a row.
So, ya, now it’s official – we bought a townhouse and we get possession on March 15. (insert squeal!)
I definitely didn’t expect it to all fall together so quickly, but when this townhouse came through our Realtors office and fit all the criteria for what we were looking for, was well within our budget and was in a fantastic location we had to snap it up.
It’s a bit of a fixer-upper and one of the first things we’ll be doing is painting the entire thing; top to bottom. Also, over the next few years we’ll slowly replace all the flooring as well.
It does have a gorgeous kitchen though, and really, is there anything more important than that?
Here is a sneak peak of the kitchen:
It’s a 1,350 square foot three-level townhouse with three bedrooms (one downstairs and two up), two bathrooms (one full bathroom and one 3-piece bathroom), a dishwasher (!!!), a small backyard and is in a fabulous location.
We were pretty sure we were going to have to move to a completely different area of town in order to stay within our budget but this place is only 2.5 km away from where we currently live and still very central! That was one of our deciding factors for getting it actually. Location, location, location right?!
I also feel like it’s a really fitting time because this Saturday will be mine and Eric’s six-year anniversary and now we’ve bought our first house together!
Anyways, that’s that for now – it’s still feeling a little surreal over here! I am going to do a big blog post about the overall house hunting process later this week or next week so let me know if you have any questions!

Congratulations! I can’t believe you’re so young and you’re a homeowner! We’re so close in age, but I still live at home
