Three Things Thursday

in giveaway, summer, work

I’ve been doing a lot of bullet-point-type posts lately, haven’t I?

I wonder if that alludes to the random-all-over-the-place nature of my life lately?! Maybe. I’ll try to have some more thought-out posts for ya next week!

One.

I’m sure you’ve all entered a million of these lately, and you can enter one here soon too! I’ll be doing an upcoming giveaway + review for CSN. I was excited when I was contacted by them to do a giveaway and review of a product because they have SO MANY different products to choose from. Need some furniture? No problem. A Dutch Oven? Sure. Any kind of fitness equipment or workout DVDs? Yup!

Watch for that review + giveaway in the next couple of weeks!

Two.

After the urging of many of you in the comments section yesterday I finally hooked up the air conditioner! It takes up a ridiculous amount of room and is a bit of a monstrosity in my teeny-tiny apartment but O M G, so worth it. I can sleep again! And for those of you who asked, the heat has been around 36-37 C here the last couple of days, 97-98 F. Because of the desert that I live in it’s a very dry, hits-you-in-the-face kind of heat.

Three.

My work life has been really, really, really busy these last couple weeks. I went from having a few freelance projects here and there to several in one week and with people on holidays I’m taking on a lot of extra responsibility and projects at my full-time job. I didn’t even get my “day off” this week I was so busy! Thank goodness this weekend is a long weekend! I have to wrap up freelance projects on Saturday but I’m hoping to just relax/recoup on Sunday/Monday.

What are your Three Things Thursday this week?

Hooray for AC! And I’m pumped about the CSN giveaway!

1) I am so tired my eyes physically hurt this morning. So I’m heading to Starbucks.
2) TGIF for tomorrow - seriously, I’m so happy this week is almost over.
3) I’m going to have to buy more sports bras this weekend because the number I have now just doesn’t cut it. That’s how much more active my lifestyle is - and that’s pretty awesome.

I cannot believe you didn’t have your AC hooked up. What?!?!?! That’s impressive.

I know the feeling of dry heat. Ugh. I can’t wait for fall & cooler weather!

1. I’m so glad the weekend is ALMOST here. I’ve kind of got a busy weekend planned (grocery shopping, making a trip to Chattanooga with Husband, celebrating my brother-in-law’s 18th birthday on Saturday [his birthday was Monday, though], family time on Sunday), but it’ll be nice to not have to wake up at 5am.
2. I’m seriously ready to start on my novel. I want to get my home office cleaned out, painted, and set up so that I have a designated area to do this.
3. My classes start in less than a month, and I’m pretty excited!

yay for air conditioning! i can’t believe you survived without it!

my three thing, hmm…1) sydney is moving into spring so that’s awesome. (this weekend will actually be above 20′. crazy!) 2) i’m training for a half marathon but my right quad doesn’t want me to. 3) i’d like to see Inception this weekend (it’s supposed to be awesome!)

Thank goodness for your A/C! We don’t have it either, and it’s such a sauna in the summer - my poor little cat is just sprawled out MELTING and I feel so bad for her! :(

My three things…. 1) I will be in Europe in one week! 2) Inception was just about the BEST MOVIE EVER, and 3) the competition is over!! The competition is over!! :)

We have evaporative cooling rather than AC. It only works when the humidity is low. And it rained a bunch this weekend. So it’s HOT in our house too. If I had a window unit, I’d hook it up too!

Good luck wrapping up your freelance projects so you can have a nice break on Sunday and Monday! Also, glad that you now have the A/C hooked up!

My three things: 1) Today is my Friday. 2) I’m going to see Brooks & Dunn tomorrow, cannot wait. 3) I’m also off Monday. Yay for four day weekends!

Glad you hooked up your AC, it’s not worth waking up sweating every day! Plus you know guys, they bring body heat!

I have only 1 thing this Thursday #1 I HATE RED EYE FLIGHTS. I’d rather fly all day than fly over night, especially when I get on the plane at 4pm and am expected to go to bed. Complaint over.

You definitely need AC in Kamloops…it’s friggin hot there!!

Although it means you are busier, that’s awesome that you are getting the opportunity to do more freelance work.

My three things:
1) Even though this week is a four day week for me (I took a vacation day on Monday), I am looking forward to Friday!
2) I want to see Inception too…heard good things about it
3) I bought a bike last night finally and am really excited!

So glad that you have the A/C hooked up! I don’t know how you survived without it this long! We have temps in the 100s lately with the heat index and without my A/C I would just die. Okay, well not really, but it would be rough for sure.

At least work is busy and makes the time fly by, right!?

Love CSN. They rock. Can’t wait to see what product you review.

1. I have given up and run my a/c non-stop now. I know it is going to make for an expensive electricity bill, but I coudl not handle sweating while getting ready anymore…

2. I am in dire need of some serious sleep. I have been underestimating how much sleep I need when training for a marathon. Each day, I almost feel like an over tired toddler who is on the brink of tears or a meltdown. Maybe both. Taking Tuesday off to sleep helped but I am still in need of 9 blissful hours of sleep in one stretch…

3. I am hungry non-stop, which is no surprise to you. When I got home at 11 last night, I debated eating a microwave meal before going to bed… Seriously. But I resisted and instead I had some cheese. Super healthy, huh?

1. I’m going to an all-you-can eat king crab buffet this weekend and I plan on eating my weight there.
2. My thighs are so sore that I’m sitting here at the computer because I physically cannot get out of my chair.
3. I have to work tonight until ten and I have to work after someone who is MESSY so I am dreading tonight!

I am also very excited for the giveaway!! I love CSN stores!!!!!!!

My 3 things:
1) I am glad Blogger is finally letting me upload pics!
2) I can’t believe we are leaving for Calgary tomorrow at 5 am - that means I have to be up at like 4:00!!! Eeeeeeeep!
3) That pancake I just ate was the BEST pancake EVER. Hello bacon apple pancake!

Hey Amber, I don’t mind the bullet posts, maybe cause I feel the same way you do.

Nice work on the AC - I don’t have it either, its only been around 28-32C here. I just have the fan in my bedroom..

my Three for Thursday:
1 - I am packed, house is clean, and now I just have 1.5 days for work and I am outta here! I can not wait to take a week off and relax.
2 - I am thinking I am going to have to bite the bullet and buy a good pair of running shoes, my hips and knees are killing me and the farthest I have ran is 5k. yikes!
3 - I met a wonderful lady shopping yesterday at the VV Boutique! Got her card and we are going to meet up for a coffee!! I love new friends!!!!

Have a super day!

ps, one thing that helps me keep on track with everything that needs to get done in a day, write them down before you go to bed, that way you are not thinking about them all night, and if need be, add more in the morning!

:) Tam.

haha I definitely went through the every-post-is-a-bullet-list phase. It definitely correlates to how hectic life is! I haven’t noticed it too much with your posts though. I hope everything settles down soon!

1 - my husband wants to get AC but I don’t (it’s like 28 degrees here. It goes above 30 maybe 5 times a year.)
2 - I thought it was Saturday when I woke up this morning. I have been a little blue all morning - I think that’s why.
3 - I have had blueberry pancakes for dinner for the last 3 nights in a row. I won’t be shamed by this.

Hey, just found your blog! I too am a redhead, freelancer, and long-distance romancer! But I am not a runner, so no worries, I’m no death-hearkening doppleganger either.

I love your writing! Can’t wait to read more!
