First things first, I’m guest blogging for Mandy’s Lasting Impression series this morning. Check it out here.
Good Morning and Happy Friday! It doesn’t really feel like Friday to me because I’m on a flexible, semi-full-time work schedule meaning I only work four days a week and I’ve chosen to use Wednesday as my day off! Best. Decision. Ever. Breaks up the work week so nicely! So, really, today feels more like Tuesday!
I started today off with a fabulous run in the trails! I did Level 1 of the 30-day shred yesterday for the first time in months so my legs were kind of sore and the hills were brutal but still a great way to start off Friday.
This weekend is my first weekend alone since Eric left. Weirdly enough, I am really looking forward to it! It’s supposed to be around 30 C (86 F) and SUNNY all weekend so I am planning on spending lots of time outside.
Let’s see, just a few of the things I will be doing this weekend are:
- Going for two runs and a bike ride
- Going to the Farmers Market tomorrow morning.
- Doing some work on my blog and professional website.
- Planting my Four Little Pots seeds!
- Reading! I’ve been obsessed with reading lately. I have three books sitting on my coffee table and I’m hoping to plow through all three this weekend.
- Napping. I can’t even remember the last time I had a nap, other then when I was sick, so I’m really looking forward to having a couple this weekend.
So what are you up to this weekend? And do you look forward to spending time alone or do you like to be busy-busy and with people all the time?

So excited that it’s finally supposed to be sunny here this weekend too…it’s been raining all week and so ready for some nice weather!
This weekend we are heading up to Edmonton so my fiance can go to a stag and I can go shopping at West Ed with one of my bridesmaids.
Have a great weekend!
Good Friday (Tuesday) Morning Amber!
Your weekend sounds so great! I love reading, napping (new like for running).
I think its totally normal to look forward to YOU time, we all need it.
This weekend is going to be a whirlwind for me… lots of driving, people, talking (not like thats a problem for me) and I am hoping to get a run in as well. Did my first 4 mile run yesterday… well it was more of a walk/ run/ getting lost on the trail/ shoes full of mud, kind of experience. And I am not sure how do breathe… I can do a steady jog for about 2 min, then I feel so out of breath. Any suggestions?
Glad you are finally getting some nice weather…. I feel like we are living in Vancouver… raining… blah! I think this weekend I will go for a tan, just to get some sun!
Have a fabulous weekend reading, running, biking!!

That’s awesome that you can take Wednesdays off - that must be such a rejuvenating break mid-week! This weekend I’m looking forward to reading, going to the farmer’s market, running (0h my gosh did I just say I was looking forward to running?!), and spending time with friends. Oh! And I have to get my bridesmaid dress altered because the wedding I’m in is 2 weeks away!
I was going to say I like to be busy (but still have time to relax), but I think my schedule this weekend says that for me!
Enjoy the weekend! I am excited to get out for some nice runs and just relax!
Weekend naps are my favorite!
And I go back and forth in how I want to spend my weekend… sometimes I like it full of friends and sometimes I like it quiet and to myself… Enjoy your relaxing alone time!
I used to have Wednesdays off, too. It is great! But I do enjoy a three day weekend every now again (Friday or Monday off instead).
The sun is making a brief appearance this weekend, so I’m seizing the opportunity!
- Yoga class Saturday morning
- Bike ride in the afternoon
- Friend’s drumming recital Saturday night
- Yoga class Sunday morning (one of my classmates got a teaching gig already!)
- Run or bike or both
- Nap
-BBQ with my boy
- mojitos on my patio!
Happy Friday! I’m heading out for a run now….
It depends on my mood, but more often than not I like to be with other people. I’m an extrovert so that’s where I draw my energy.
P.S. Just a side note, I love that you put the temperatures into Fahrenheit for your American readers. It makes it so much easier than trying to guesstimate what temperature you’re talking about!
I’m headed to the Farmer’s Market too! I haven’t been to Baltimore’s biggesty one yet and I’m excited! I’ve also got a few library books that are due back soon that I need to get crackin’ on. Sounds like a perfect weekend to me!
Tomorrow I’m going to Kelowna to see one of my bestest friends and her little baby girl! Sunday I work. Booo.
I like a balance of alone time and being around people. I get worn out too easily, so I need alone time every once in a while!
Aside from dinne tonight w/ some family, I have zero plans (besides running 5m tomorrow & 8m on Sunday). I have been feeling so crappy all week, I wasn’t sure how I’d feel this weekend, hence the reason I didn’t make plans. I am looking forward to my plan free weekend, though. I plan on watching disc 2 of Glee (just started watching that show and love it!), working on a baby blanket that I am crocheting, and giving my condo a proper cleaning. It looks like a tornado passed through!
Oh, and I’ll be gchatting w/ you at some point to figure out travel/hotel plans.
What are you reading? Sounds like a lovely weekend! I shall be watching the England game (of course!) and painting my face red and white with a bunch of boys, and possibly meeting a penpal I’ve had for a little while face-to-face for the first time. Exciting
I like a balance of busy busy and alone time - I get EXHAUSTED if I socialise more than a couple of nights a week, but I always find I crave company when I’m alone for too long
Happy weekend!
I like to have a mix of alone time and friend time. Sounds like you have a great weekend planned.
I definitely need my time alone (but then again I don’t want TOO much because then I may go crazy). But I can completely sympathize with your excitement to get some good workouts in and other things done that you simply can’t do while other people are around.
Also, I’m super jealous of your flexible schedule. Wednesday is a great day to take off!
I think you have quite a good weekend line up there! run , bike, fresh produce? All good things.
enjoy the down time!
I love having time alone … I crave it! I’m planting my Four Little Pots seeds this weekend too
I’m with you. I’m not sure I’m going to leave my apartment this weekend.
I dig me some alone time =) What books are you reading? I hope you share! And have a fabulous weekend; I’m only a BBM away if you need anything! I hope the sun sticks around for you, too. We have rainy grossness right now, so not what a weekend should look like !
Sounds like a nice little run. The trails and hills are always hard to do when you have any kind of soreness in you. We’re going up to Portland tonight and having dinner with two of my friends before an early morning 1/2 marathon. Then, come home (hopefully take a nice nap) and have some good eats. Sunday I’ll do an easy walk/run and then hanging out with my mentee for a bit. Enjoy. I’ve been reading a lot more lately and really enjoy it.
I only had today off and I was very busy with my friend. Luckily I don’t have to work until tomorrow afternoon.
I LOVE spending time alone - I really like to be antisocial every few weekends, it helps me re-charge. I’m spending today alone because I’m off down for London to work tomorrow so this is my only day of the weekend. Of course, I need to pack, but I also am trying to fit all my relaxation into today!
Sounds like a wonderful weekend! Enjoy it! I am spending my weekend reading, doing some creative writing (which has been going extremely well), and helping out with a dance recital on Sunday. It is going to be great.
Best,
Hannah Katy
So, the weekend is almost over and I just got to your post.
Means it was a good weekend, right? I spend it writing a letter, reading, exercising, and spending time with my family. I love weekends!
I like to be with people!!! This weekend a couple of my closest friends got married … it was perfect!!!! I had the best time!
I hope that your weekend was absolutely wonderful!!
I ran a half marathon this past weekend! woot!
