Patio Roses

Despite the fact that I live in a shoebox there are a few things about my teeny, tiny basement suite that I kind of love.

It’s not the family upstairs that are SO LOUD – especially on Sunday afternoons when I am attempting to nap – that I could kill them :D

No, it’s my patio, and the gorgeous roses that surround it. I snapped some pictures last week and thought I’d share.

Of course, all these beautiful roses means you have to watch out for thorns when you’re coming to visit me.

Unfortunately all the petals are slowly starting to fall off. It makes me sad. I was hoping they would last all summer. They are so beautiful to look at!

Well, I’m literally walking out the door right now to go meet a friend for a trail run and then I need to get my butt cracking and get some freelance articles written. Have a fabulous Wednesday!

What’s your favourite thing about your apartment or house?

BEAUTIFUL roses! My favorite thing about my house is our kitchen, probably. While there are so many things I want to change in the future, I just love that it’s big and has tons of counter space. I also love our yard. It’s beautiful!

Um, can you be my running mentor? I might be serious. I’d love to start running, and I need some motivation and suggestions for warm-ups, food to eat before/after a run, etc…

That’s funny cause over the weekend I fell a little bit in love with your patio area and all the gorgeous roses out there. It’s enchanting, really.

Wow, those roses are beautiful! We have a small rosebush at our new house.

I think my favorite thing about my new house is the bedroom. I chose the paint color (it’s a calming green, called “false cypress”) and the bed was actually built for me by my boyfriend. It’s one of the benefits of being with a carpenter. I can’t wait to get my custom kitchen, which he plans to do within the next few years.

I also love the privacy of living in a house…it’s much quieter and less stressful than apartment living.

Those roses would be gorgeous to sit out on the patio and look at. Or from a window. You are pretty luck!

The best part of our house is that it’s ours and we can do whatever we want to it. We rent for almost two years and were getting sick of not being able to paint or hang lots of pictures

Do you have the patio all to yourself? Either way, gorgeous roses indeed!

favorite thing about where I live now? The quiet suburban streets are excellent for walks with Jack, the swimming pool in the backyard and the fact that it’s rent free =)

So pretty! I have some roses in my backyard, but they’re not nearly as pretty as these!

Oh, that is SO pretty!!!

I once heard that thorns have roses, not roses have thorns.

Have a wonderful Day ‘off’ Amber!!

I love those roses! They are so pretty. Perhaps you can clip a few and dry them so you have them the next few seasons to remind you of some of your favorite things.

One of the most favorite things about where I live is that its in town but still fairly secluded. When I sit on the deck or look out one the windows at the back of the house, I have a gorgeous view of the town and river.

Those roses are gorgeous!!!! I wish I had a patio like that, how adorable!
My favorite thing about my apartment is it’s size. We have over 1000 square feet, which is pretty decent for an apartment and for the first time in a long time I do not feel crowded!

My grandma used to have yellow and pink roses like that every year that would line the fence by her house… so pretty!

Your roses are beautiful! What a great pop of color you get to see as you walk out the door! Over the past few summers, we’ve worked really hard to put together a really nice garden to complement our building. Every time I see it, I take pride, knowing my hands helped put it all together!

So pretty! Our place looks out over a park … I love it! It makes it seem a little less city, if you know what I mean.

Oh those are gorgeous! Although my first thought wasn’t about thorns it was that I bet you have a lot of bees around there! (Haha, I’m such a wimp!)

I LOVE this!! So beautiful! :) I love that outside our front door is a view of the river and the almost-skyline (Winnipeg’s skyline is kinda lame!!): http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=3924198&l=2b9dd9d706&id=514549170

GORGEOUS!!!

The one bonus to our current casa is that it has good curb appeal. If I had to choose a second thing it would be that the Master Bedroom is a good size.

I love all the pictures! I have a great view out my apartment as well, which is nice. I just don’t ever sit out there much, since we have no patio furniture!

Those are beautiful!! It is so sad when the petals drop. I felt the same way this spring when our crab apple trees were blossoming. It’s so sad when the petals drop as they are so dang beautiful!

My fave thing about my condo is that it has a real, wood burning fireplace. I don’t use it very often, but I love the look of it. I think it makes my living room look cozy and inviting.

Oooh, I want a patio. I just posted the other day about how much I would love a garden or a balcony or just SOMEWHERE outside that was a bit private. This would be nice.

Okay, well I live in a flatshare, usually with five others so my favourite things are the location (the west end of Glasgow is very pretty) and the fact the flat is so big. No one believes it until they come to my flat, walk to where they think the corridor ends, then realise the corridor stretches halfway up the next street. That’s pretty awesome . . . although it does take me a while to answer when someone buzzes for me!

Wow, that’s a pretty view you have! We live in a neighborhood where we have strict HOA rules so I’m not used to seeing different kind of plants/flowers.

It really is the little things that make the seemingly rough things more amazing.

I live in a house with 2 roommates, and it seems like everything is breaking. But sometimes, I’ll notice a little something about the house that makes me smile — like the skylight in the bathroom, or the way that the living room is shaped.

Gorgeous! It’s even pretty with all the petals on the patio…like a petal blanket! Love it! (And I wouldn’t be surprised if they re-bloomed again later in the summer).
My favorite thing about my house is that my back deck (actually the entire back of the house) overlooks the Illinois River. And because the house is built into the hillside, the main level/back deck is actually at tree top level. It’s like I live in a treehouse with a river view! I actually had a bird build a nest below the deck level right off the corner of it and I got to watch the baby robins hatch, grow up (so cute!) and then leave the next. They were my babies too! I also love the veggie/herb garden I have going on the deck. 3 kinds of tomatoes, red pepper plant and about 7 herbs. Yay!

beautiful!!! Now this is going to sound weird but the house im living in (my parents house) is beautiful because its really old (about 160yrs) and has so much character. BUT i love the house that my fiance and I just bought recently because it’s brand new – and still has a lot of character.

Oh my gosh, those are absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!!!! I love them, and I want them!
I really love my house so it’s hard to narrow it down to anything in particular. My old apartment had only 1 bathroom, so I love having 3…and I used to not have laundry, so that’s a bonus too. In general I just love having the space :)

Wow – that is so beautiful! I would love to have roses growing around my house!!

My favourite thing about my house is that it is SO me. Since we gutted the house to the frame, I was able to pick out everything that went into the house – sink, toilet, flooring, paint, ceiling etc..
