Countdowns

in happiness, school

Sometimes, like right now, when all my responsibilities (mostly school) are really stressing me out, I like to think about the great things that are coming up in my life.

Ya, ya, I know, I know. Live in the moment. Blah, blah, blah.

But would life be any fun if we didn’t have anything to look forward to? I don’t think so.

Here’s a few things that I’m currently counting down to…

10 sleeps until Eric gets here.

33 sleeps until I write my last final exam and finish off my undergraduate degree.

46 sleeps until the Europe trip!

214 sleeps until the Portland Marathon. (Which I finally officially registered for. Read about it here.)

What are you counting down to?

It’s the final countdown (do do do doo, do do do do do…) « i has good grammar

I am looking forward to my trip to Chicago for Easter with my parents. My brother lives there so we are going there for Easter. Can’t wait.

I am also looking forward to the trip to Mexico with my girlfriends in the fall sometime. It will be after Portland so it will be a good little treat to myself! :)

I am a huge fan of count downs. Not that I NEVER live in the moment, but I mean- looking forward to things is fun too :) SO my countdowns are to: my cake tasting this Saturday, going to the Cape for Easter with my family, April vacation even if it will be spent doing wedding stuff at least it’s not work, this summer, my wedding, my honeymoon, :) Lots to look forward to. Also I can’t wait for YOU to go to Europe, it’s going to be so fun to hear about!

I love having countdowns! They make the not-so-great days that much more bearable. I’m so excited for you for your trip! Right now I am counting down to a concert we’re going to in April (Sonata Arctica, don’t ask lol) , our 2-year anniversary of dating, and our wedding :)

I love that you countdown in sleeps and that you have so much to look forward to! I am looking forward to a weekend getaway to QVC with my mom and a family friend, some concerts this summer, and right now, the first day of Spring!

I have short term countdowns and life countdowns. No middle ground… my head can’t handle it.

One day until I get to see my cousin pitch.
Three days until I get to go to Austin and see friends and go to a wedding.
Four days until my niece is baptized.
And then 192 days until I have a baby. (Yes, I had to look that up!)

hey Amber! long time no comment! sorry about that!! I’m so so bad. like you, I have been super stressed with everything going on, aka, work. I actually need to be finishing a story right now but I wanted to say hello real quick!

I think having things to look forward to definitely makes getting through stressful times easier– and you have a lot of exciting things coming up! I wish I had something to look forward to, but it seems like all that is in front of me is more work. I was hoping to take a vacation at the end of the month but it seems that might not happen. but we’ll see. *fingers crossed*

anyway, hope you are doing good and I’ll try to be back to commenting more regularly soon!

p.s. I always think it is so funny how you countdown in “sleeps.” so cute. is that a Canadian thing or an Amber thing? :)

Ha…your countdowns crack me up. Crazy how quickly everything happens. I need something to look forward to. It’s been far too long since I’ve had some sort of girls vacation.

Counting down in sleeps was probably my favourite method of counting when I was little!

There’s only 10 sleeps until Kyle and I go to Vancouver. I think that’s the only thing I’m counting down to for now!

I’m constantly counting down to something. I just love it!

Right now…

31 days until my 5K race
58 days until this awful semester is finished
9 months until I graduate!!!!!

And then once I get my cruise plans finalized, I can start counting down for that. Yay!

I love having things to look forward to, but then I’m always torn because I don’t want to be so busy looking at the future that I forget about the present! Right now, I’m pretty content with time haha. If I’m counting down to anything, it’s probably the end of midterms: 8 days. Other than that, everything else can wait.. I’m not ready for them! (ie. half-marathon: I have to train, kelly’s wedding: I have to write my speech) haha

I just realized last night that the end of the school year is rapidly approaching. I’m not graduating or anything, but I’m so looking forward to not working nights for a few months. I don’t mind it normally, but I look forward to relaxing evenings.

With all you’ve got going on, I’m sure the next month will fly!
