Hey guys, here is our trip itinerary thus far, if anyone is interested in seeing it! Would love to hear your thoughts/advice.
After emailing back and forth with the lovely Lauren, who did a very similar trip about a year ago, I’m trying to wrap my head around the idea of being more flexible and not booking every. last. thing. before we go. Which is SO my Type-A personality shining through. I spent 6 hours staring at the computer on Sunday researching hotels/hostels/B&Bs in Europe and it was getting stressful. We want to have the trip of a lifetime but we also want to stay within our budget!
These are the hostels I came up with after searching and comparing prices/reviews etc. I’m sure that some of them will change before we go. If you have other recommendations, by all means please share!

Late. You’d think I’d be early all the time since I have that type-A personality, but no. More often than not, I’m late.

Marion; after my great-grandma on my Dad’s side.

4. How big is your bed?
Queen. I want a King-sized bed one day, though!
5. What are you allergic to?
Nadda, nilch, nothin!
6. What is the first thing you do in the morning?
Look at Twitter on my phone. Sad, right? But it helps wake me up when all I want to do is roll over and go back to sleep!
7. What was your favorite TV show growing up?
Family Matters or Fresh Prince of Belair! I still love Will Smith.
8. Will you, or did you, go to your 10 year high school reunion?
Maybe. Not sure, that will be in another 6 years. Yikes!
9. If a tree falls in the forest and nobody is there to hear it, does it still make a sound?
Yes.
10. What, in your opinion, is the greatest invention? (You know, since sliced bread…)

The question I’m most curious about for all of you guys is, what’s the first thing you do in the morning? Someone make me feel less pathetic for checking Twitter, please…

um.. hit the snooze button? really, I’m terrible at waking up. Then it’s something like taking my pill, drinking water and/or peeing. Maybe I should try that though? 10 minutes of twitter instead of 10 minutes of snooze?
I check facebook first thing. I just can’t get into twitter. I try and try, but I always stop posting after a day or two. But facebook is my addiction.
After groaning and moaning to get out of bed, I usually make a mad dash for the bathroom to pee. Ahhh, the joys of pregnancy!

The trip itinerary looks amazing! I’ve never done a europe tour, but I will someday….

first thing i do in the morning — brush my teeth.
Don’t feel bad! Once I actually get out of bed I take my blackberry into the kitchen and check any emails that have come over night while I’m making breakfast. I also start reading blogs while eating breakfast!

And the first thing I do in the morning after fumbling around in the dark for my dressing gown (because I’m always freezing when I get out of bed) would be put on BBC Radio. It’s got me through *life* and I leave it on all day for my cat

What a wonderful adventure for you & Eric! So excited for you guys!! I am going to live vicariously through you! I regret not doing a trip like this after college!
The first thing I do is press snooze! Those extra 5 minutes are fabulous!
bah, the first thing I do in the morning is eat my oatmeal and work out (stregth or yoga) from home. nothing wrong with twitter. but i’m convinced there is something wrong with half asleep yoga.
First thing I do is take my temperature (for ovulation charting). Then hit snooze!
AHhh. Fresh Prince. I forgot Fresh Prince!!
I either check facebook on my ipod or what to expect when you expecting that i have on my ipod to see how far along i am and what interesting things will be happening to me that week. Or I go turn on the bath and go back to bed for 10mins……lol these days i’m too lazy to even take a shower lol

I hit snooze on my alarm and then lay there for a couple minutes wondering if I can get away for sleeping for another ten minutes! I’m not a morning person at all
Other than getting up and showering and all that, I start my coffee, eat breakfast, check my email, Facebook (gotta check on my Farmville crops!) and Twitter, then warm my car (if it’s cold outside) and then make my lunch.
Sometimes I’m amazed that I get out the door in time!

I AM SO GLAD YOU ARE STAYING AT SEVEN HOSTEL! I loved it there. OH, and I completely forgot I stayed at Plus Florence too! It’s really nice..there are some pictures of both Seven and Plus Florence on my facebook.
Now that I’ve got a Blackberry I do the Twitter check first thing too.
Twitter, then email check, THEN I get up!

You’re going to countries I’ve always wanted to go to – Netherlands, Italy and mainland Greece (I’ve only been to Greek islands) and going to one of my favourite places in the world – Paris!
I need to try and do something like this.
Ok, I MUST find you the hostels I used for CInque Terre and Venice, because I loved both!!
I’ll try to get them to you by this week-end but feel free to send me a reminder email!

the first thing I do in the morning? other than hit “snooze” and go back to bed? haha. since I work from home, I usually open my computer and check my email. not a very exciting start to the day, but there it is. and if I’m lucky, which I wasn’t today, I make coffee and have breakfast. alas, there was no time for that this morning!
oh, as a side note, I am also late more often that early, though I strive to be on time for work-related things!
and, I too love the Prince of Bel Air! ahh! Will Smith cracks me up endlessly.

How much are you budgeting for your entire trip? Gosh, accommodation alone looks so expensive!
I would be the one to check Twitter on my phone, too, if my dog wasn’t so persistent that he needed to go potty. He’s grown used to the routine and now if I make any sudden moves after my alarm goes off, he’s licking my face and ready to GO!

But after that, I eat breakfast. I don’t usually use anything electronic until later on in the day.

I read this and I was all, “hotel du commerce, hotel du commerce…why is that so familiar??” I *totes* walked by that baby about a million times!
I lived on the ile saint louis, the itty bitty island behind Notre Dame. You have to go there and go to Berthillon – best ice cream ever, totally worth the line. I adore the Latin Quarter. I would definitely say it’s my favorite part of Paris. I’m a left bank girl

I’m a morning person so I never really have trouble waking up. First thing I do is put on my work out clothes
First thing I do: roll over and go back to sleep for 15 minutes
Second: check email, twitter while still in bed then force myself out of bed so I can grab my first cup of coffee (while still on my black berry…)
Third: shower
Every morning. can’t function without the coffee/shower combo. ever.
I use to check my email every morning, or text Alex good morning.
