Icky

in friends, health, weekend, wine

Morning guys, sorry for the late post. My schedule feels all wonky now that I’m DONE school for the semester. Ya that’s right, I’m done till 2010, whooo!

How was your weekend? Mine was SO fun but also SO unhealthy.

My weekend consisted of A LOT of this:

Quite a few of these:

Not nearly enough of this:

And even one meal of this:

I felt - and still feel - so disgusting from my binge weekend.

Yesterday, while I tried to detox a bit, I had two exams that I was stressed out cramming for and then my good friend Michele came to visit for a much-needed girls night. Needless to say, I’m still feeling a bit ‘icky’ four days after my weekend started.

I’m trying to get back to my healthy eating/working out but it’s hard. How is it that one weekend of bad choices can throw me off so much?

Today I’ve got some healthy eats packed like a green smoothie, a salad, an apple and some thin crust pizza. I have plans to head to a spinning class on my lunch hour and to a yoga class tonight. Hopefully I can get back to feeling like normal again soon!

Oh, and just to show you how unhealthy this weekend was, here’s how much wine me and my friends drank on Saturday night. I think there was about seven or eight of us drinking wine. Oy.

Now I just have three days of work - which will be super busy and therefore go by super quickly - and then I’m HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS! (Can you tell I’m excited?)

So how was your weekend? Have you ever had a really unhealthy weekend that left you feeling like crap for days? How did you recover??

PS: I have a guest post up on Love Everyday Life on Being a Redhead. Check it out!

I have had some incredibly unhealthy weekends, but I always just shake it off, remember how much I enjoyed it, and start fresh on Monday. Drink lots of water! :)

Spinning and yoga should do the trick! Both workouts are great at releasing the toxins!

My weekend was exactly like that…haha
I think going back to work this week helped me get back into the habit of healthy eating, but I’m still tired
I really prefer weekends that are not such a big mess, less to recover from!

Everyone deserves a good wine night… it’s just the after effects that remind us why we don’t do it that often… :)

As Kelly just mentioned, we had quite the weekend of birthday celebrations. No joke, I had about five bagels over a two day period. I hate when you look back on a weekend and you’re just like oh. my. god. gross! haha but it’s so much fun sometimes you can’t help it : )
Usually though, this only motivates me more to eat healthy and get my butt to the gym in the following days. I find that a good morning work out and telling yourself that “you’re not hungover” really does wonders!
Hope you feel better soon!

Oh awesome. My doctor once said “Better a hotdog with a friend than a salad with an enemy” - I think it applies. *hug* xoxo

I know what you mean! It is so hard to bounce back, but we have to have those weekends every once in awhile! :)
Glad you’re done with school and I hope you feel better soon!

We all fall off the wagon occasionally. Happens to me on weekends when I go to my cabin. Or crappy days at work where I keep visiting my co-worker’s candy drawer and eat peanut butter cups until I am sick to my stomach. :P

In the past, I used to let a binge turn last way longer than it should because I’d think - well, the weekend was a wash, so what’s one more day of bad eating. And then it just kept getting worse. Now I give myself permission to have slip ups and remind myself that I can’t fall back into those bad routines. So I get back into a running schedule right away and then I usually don’t want to erase the calories I”ve burned by endulging afterwards.

So excited for you to go home!!! :)

Hope your exams went well! Sometimes it’s good to have one of those weekends where you have fun and live life and then you can get back on track the following week.

Hopefully the rest of the week goes by fast for you!

Sometimes its worth feeling icky, and that night seems very well deserved after all your hard work! I love how many wine bottles there are, heh.

I have had many unhealthy weekends - the best thing to do is just get right back on track … you got that right! Good for you!

I’ve heard it takes 30 days to build a habit and only 48 hours to break it! Scary to think about, huh?

Sometimes those weekends are good for the soul so don’t beat yourself up over it!

I feel like that sometimes! I’ve actually been having an unhealthy week… I haven’t been working out as much and have been making bad food choices. Ugggg. I feel… sludgy! LOL!
BUT your plan sounds great and will have you feeling good in no time.

its no fun feeling “icky” but I think a weekend of overindulgence is okay every once in a while. so don’t feel too bad about it! we all have those weekends, especially around the holidays, where it seems like all we do is drink (wine, perhaps!), eat and be merry! but as long as were merry, the eating and drinking is alright in my book! haha.

and yay for no more school till next year!
