Happy Holidays, lovelys!

in amber and eric, family, holidays, home

Hi dolls. I have been in Edmonton visiting my Dad for the last couple of days and it’s been snowy and cold. This morning my Dad has his fifth surgery to try and repair the skin graft, we are praying that it works this time and he’ll be home before the New Year.

My brother and I are heading back to FSJ this afternoon and I have two full days of family-time planned on the 24 and 25! On Christmas Eve we have a big dinner planned with all my extended family on my Mom’s side and then we usually stay up late playing board games. Christmas Day is spent with my immediate family. We have a big breakfast at my Mom’s and open presents then Eric and I usually drive out to his parents for the afternoon but this year they are coming into town to spend Christmas with us! We always have Christmas dinner at my Grandma’s and play board games after dinner, we are big fans of Cranium! I’m really sad my Dad won’t be here this year, though.

Rather then spend money on extravagant gifts me and Eric stuffed stockings for each other! I’m excited to see what he’s stuffed in my stocking. I got him a mix of funny and serious stuff.

Anyways, I will be taking the rest of this week off of blogging. So I wanted to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

After nearly five years together Eric finally agreed to do a Christmas card with me. Here is the card we handed out to family and friends this season and this is my way of giving it to you too:

How do you spend Christmas Eve and Christmas Day?

Merry Christmas! XO

I hope things went well with your dad’s surgery.

On Christmas eve we go to my dad’s for turkey and presents … then we head to the hubby’s aunts house for drinks and munchies.

Christmas morning we wake up at home, and open presents, then go to the hubby’s parents to do the same, have brunch and later turkey dinner.

We spend Christmas Eve at one of my family member’s houses (it changes every year) and then after that me, my sister and parents go back to my parents house to open our gifts to each other. Then Christmas morning we go back to my parents house to hang out there all day and usually go see a movie.
This year it’s all the same, except after opening gifts at my parents house Christmas Eve Cy is supposed to meet me back at my apartment so we can wake up together Christmas morning and open each others gifts. I’m hoping this plan works out because we’re supposed to be hit with a huge storm Thursday and Cy might have to leave early for his hometown an hour away. My fingers are crossed!
Merry Christmas, Amber!! Love the picture! So cute :)

Aw that’s a beautiful card :) Sounds like a great couple of days you’ve got ahead!

Christmas Eve I usually go see a movie with my dad then go to a church service with D’s family, then back to his parents for a massive Franco-Manitoban (I feel so out of place at these!!) midnight celebration. Christmas morning we unwrap presents with each other before heading to his parents’, then my dad’s for the same thing. There’s usually a big dinner at his grandparents and then Boxing Day we do dinner and board games round my dads. There’s usually one of those present games too where you can steal from other people in there somewhere too - last year I *almost* got the fireplace DVD!! But it got stolen :)

Merry Christmas!!

happy holidays!

i still haven’t gotten into the whole card giving thing! maybe after the wedding.

Usually christmas eve is at my younger sister’s place. Then I go to pick up my older sister at the airport. Then christmas day we drive over to my parents’ house. Though next year, my older sister and her 2 kids won’t be able to afford to fly out here due to wedding expenses. But that’s ok! we’ll be together for the wedding!

Cute! Love the card. Xmas eve I spend with family for xmas eve service and then funny gifts and snacks at my grandparents. Xmas morning the manfriend and I will head to my parents’ EARLY for stockings, then we’ll head to the grandparents for brunch and presents. THen back to the parents for family presents, movie watching, napping and dinner. Day AFTER xmas, we’ll head to my dad’s parents side of the fam for xmas. And I have a friends birthday party later that night. Basically, three days of jam packed craziness. And tonight I meet up with the high school gang for a cookie/white elephant/ugly sweater party! woohoo! Happy Holidays!

This year I get to spend it with my family in Ontario. Christmas eve we will just hang out, watch some movies and eat lots of food! On Christmas day, we will open gifts at my mom’s house and then go to my dad’s house to open gifts. For dinner, my aunt hosts it every year. I am looking forward to spending time with my family.

Merry Christmas and I hope Santa brings you everything you asked for and more!

Your card is beautiful! I always mean to send out Christmas cards but it never happens! Sorry the Edmonton weather was so horrible - it’s supposed to be +2 here tomorrow, so go figure. Hope your dad gets better really soon! Happy Christmas :D

I hope your dad gets better and that he can put all these operations behind him!

And as for the Christmas card - so very adorable! I don’t think I’ve ever made a Christmas card before, but that’s a great idea :)

My Christmas eve and day are never really the same. When my parents are living abroad it is spent with just my parents and siblings and we do our own thing, but once in a while it will be with our extended family. Either way I love it :)

Aww Ambie I love the christmas card! You both look great in it, was it taken by a professional or a friend?
How have your holidays been? Is your Dad doing alright? I’m actually kind of excited to head back to Kamloops and see everyone! I go back on the 3rd, when do you get back?
Well, hope all is well and enjoy your next couple days off!
