Happy 101: This Week

I’ve been tagged to do this little meme by a few fabulous blogger friends. I almost always forget when I’m tagged to do one of these things but after a few bloggers started tagging me I figured what the heck, might as well. Besides, it’s fun to write about what makes us happy!

The rules call for you to write 10 things that brighten your day but I’m gonna change it up a bit (am I allowed to do that? Oh well, I am) I’m going to write about 10 things that brightened this week for me!

1. Being done school for the semester. It’s SO nice to come home from work and be able to read blogs, read a book, watch TV; whatever. Because I don’t have any homework or any studying to do!

2. Working three days in a row. I really like my job and I was working on some fun projects this week that I really enjoyed. When I’m working the days fly by.

3. All of last weekend; there were some late nights and some unhealthy choices were made but I had an absolute blast. Last Thursday night there were about 25 of us out for my friend’s birthday dinner and then we all went to the bar after; where a lot of shots were consumed. Saturday night about 10-15 of us got together for an Italian Christmas. We ate some delicious spaghetti, drank a lot of red wine and had a gift exchange. So fun!

4. The Office. I borrowed the first few seasons from my friend. At first I didn’t enjoy it but now I love it! SO funny. I heart Dwight.

5. Amber from A Little Pink in the Cornfields said some very, very nice things about me! It completely made my week!

6. BBM (Blackberry Messenger). I have been BBMing almost daily with some of my favourite bloggers since I found out you can do it for free internationally.

7. Christmas music. The last few Christmases I haven’t really been in the “Christmas Spirit” so to speak, but this year I’m totally digging it and love jamming out to Christmas tunes on the radio when I drive to work every day!

8. The Help by Kathryn Stockett. I got this book from the library a few weeks ago but just started reading it at the end of last week. Omigoodness, this book was SO good. It’s been quite awhile since I read a book that I couldn’t put down.

9. My Glo Bars came in the mail! I’ve been lusting over Angela’s Glo Bars for quite some time but they are a little out of my price range. When she had a 40% off sale on Black Friday I knew I had to snap some up. And you know what? They are so freaking good. Hands down better then Clif bars or lara bars! That’s right, I said it.

10. I’m going home. For three weeks. TOMORROW.

What brightened this week for you?

Yay, I am so excited you are going home tomorrow and so happy for you that the semester is over! Does this mark the end of your LDR or did I make that up in my own head?

What brightened this week for me? I ran last night and my knee felt good…or should I say I didn’t feel anything. That got me to thinking though that I have so much of my happiness tied into my running that I need to break free of that thinking and find other things to brighten my week.

Your list is great! It’s awesome that working 3 days in a row is on your list! :) That’s a great sign! I bet you are looking forward to being done with school and JUST working instead of balancing work & school.

I loved doing this list because it’s important to think about what makes me happy - esp when i am feeling stressed/overwhelmed!!

I’m so jealous that you’re already done! In the midst of finals.. I guess what brightens my day is finally being done with group projects (as of like 30 minutes ago) and I’m still on a high from my birthday! And I love BBMing! That’s so awesome it works internationally!

Aww, I love it! Putting my puppy in his little sweater to take him for a walk in -31°C weather put a big grin on my face this week. Too cute.

I like reading happy lists!! :)

Steve and I have had a pretty hard week trying to find a doctor…..but what had all that worry and stress go away was hearing our babies heart beat for the first time on Monday!!! So amazing!!! We even recorded it so we can listen to it whenever we want!! LOVE IT!!! :)

Nice work. I love love loved xmas break in college. Everyone should have the opportunity to take one month off a year. Unfortunately, unless you’re a teacher, it doesn’t happen.

I’ve been wanting to try glo bars. Glad to hear they’re better than the other stuff!

This is going to sound insane, but I loved the crappy snowy weather we got this week. :)

I never liked The Office either! I refused to be a part of a cult following. Or whatever you’d like to call it. And now when I come home from work I can catch reruns on TV and they’re HILARIOUS. I know I’m like 2 years behind on this, but I really do enjoy the show!

If you like the office try 30 rock too! :) Both take a little to get into but both are excellent.

i like the office but i can’t get past one fact. i spend all day in an office with people that aren’t as funny as the people on “the office”. so why do i want to spend my time away from my office watching other people in an office? i have the same problem with “Better Off Ted”. it’s funny, but the show reminds me of something I still need to do at work.

and i don’t want to think about work when i’m not at work.

I love the BBM thing too. It’s so great to be able to chat with you! Makes everything much more “real.”

I’m going to add this book you speak of to my list of books to read, as if it’s not long enough already!? But if you can’t put it down, it’s got to be good.

Have a great trip at home! Travel safe and enjoy; you deserve this time with family, Eric & friends!

That is such a great award! I really love BBM…that has helped Alex and I so much. We don’t have to do international text messages….which add up way to fast. Hope you have a great three weeks off!

OMG The Office - the new love of my life. Luckily my husband shares this love so it’s not his competition. :)
