Ten on Tuesday

I decided to participate in Chelsea’s Ten on Tuesday today.

1. When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?

Well, first I wanted to be a Veterinarian and then I decided I liked sea animals more than regular animals so I wanted to be a Marine Biologist. When I learned that Marine Biologists had to actually be good at science and biology (go figure) I decided that was not the career for me and that’s when I started thinking about Journalism. Yup, I’ve been on the path to journalism since I was about 11 years old. Even though I don’t plan on being an actual working “journalist” anymore, I still consider myself a writer and want to be a writer.

2. Name 3 of your irrational fears.

  • Driving straight through green lights when someone is waiting to turn left. This fear comes from the accident me and Eric got in last year, when someone turned left in front of us.
  • Snakes. Sometimes I have dreams that they are in my bed. It freaks me out, a lot.
  • Being murdered, brutally, like the stuff you see on TV. Wow, that was dark!

3. If you had a $200 gift card for any store, what would you want it to be? (Nothing responsible allowed. Can’t be used for groceries or anything.)

Oh this is easy. I would use it to buy a new pair of running shoes as I’m almost due to replace mine, again!

4. What is your most (blog-friendly) embarrassing moment?

Once, when I was standing beside Eric and talking to his Dad I accidentally farted. Of course, his Dad was going to be polite and play it cool but Eric looked at me and was like, “Ewww, did you just fart?!”. Ya, I wanted to die.

5. If you were only allowed to eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would you choose?

Some people might not find this question hard but I find it SO HARD because I absolutely love food! Ummm, I guess I would go with a really good veggie pizza on a whole-wheat crust because it’s nutritious (kinda), delicious and filling.

6. What was your favourite toy growing up?

Definitely Barbies; I had a huge container full of them and would play with them for hours on end.

7. Do you have a “go to” outfit? What is it?

It depends on the situation. If I’m puttering around the house or running errands on a weekend it’s a pair of yoga pants, a zip-up, my UGG boots and maybe a scarf. If it’s going out or to a bit of a “dressier” event, it’s dark jeans, a classic blouse or a nice top with my pointy-toed shoes that have kitten heels. I have the same shoes in pink and black and I wear both pairs a lot! I also like to accessorize. You’ll rarely see me without either a necklace, earrings or a scarf. Even on the weekends. I’m not “fashionable” per say, but I like to feel put together.

8. Who was the best teacher you ever had?

Another tough one, probably my Kindergarten teacher; Mrs. Gunther. She was the nicest lady. Also in Grade Five I had a great teacher and we all really liked her, Mrs. Giesbrecht was her name but we all called her Mrs. G. Unfortunately, she passed away suddenly a couple of years ago because of a brain tumor. So sad.

9. If you could buy any car right now (something at least SORT OF within the realm of reality…so, you know, a Rolls Royce may not qualify), what would it be?

Honestly, I’m really happy with the car that I have and it’s fairly new (to me) still. But I guess if I could buy another one I would go with the new Honda Civic, two-door. I just think that car is so cute and sporty looking!

10. How do you reckon that Chelsea comes up with 10 of these questions every week? It was hard! What’s your theory on how she’s so creative? Are you going to help her?

I have no idea how she does it! It was hard enough to answer them all, I don’t know if I could have come up with them, especially since she does it every week!

Computer Update: I fedexed my laptop to my techy cousin in Edmonton yesterday. For now I am getting by on my old, very slow, very crappy laptop, my work computer and the school computers. Bah. Good news is he says he can save my hard drive and he’s going to do it all for free, which saves me a lot of money since the Kamloops computer store told me it would be around $300! So hopefully I will have it back soon!

On #4 … oh, Eric! What a way to out your lady! Not cool.

I know this might sound horrible, but after you have kids you can always blame it on them if they are nearby. Ordinarily I fess up, but I tooted in front of my MIL once and blamed it on my months-old nephew. I felt kinda bad doing it, but he didn’t care and had gas anyways.

I hope your computer can be saved!!

These were fun to read. I also used to have nightmares about snakes in my bed. Haven’t had that happen for a few years. It was traumatizing because I’d wake up & still be in the nightmare and would be paralyzed with fear because I thought if I moved, the snakes would know I was in the bed. Ish. I hate snakes.

Happy Tuesday! Have a great day!

I don’t like snakes either.

Probably because when I was little a copperhead came at me while I was swimming. I couldn’t get out of the water fast enough.

I wanted to do be a marine biologist after going to Sea World and seeing the dolphin trainers. But I quickly grew out of that when I realized I just used the word BIOLOGIST for the word of a career. Not uh.

LOL! I couldn’t stop myself when I was at #4. I just farted in the public a few days ago and I was glad that only my sister was with me that time. And I don’t think they heard me. :)

Such fun questions and answers! Love it! I feel like I should accessorize more. My *standard* accessories are pretty classic (wedding rings on one hand, one big ring on the other, watch, large pearl earrings, and maybe a standard necklace charm on a thing chain). I feel like I should do more– venture out a little! LOL!

#2 It’s interesting to see that right after we were discussing it on Saturday.

#4- That’s horrible. And yet funny.

#5 A good veggie pizza is hard to beat. With pineapple? Solid gold food.

Omg you’re right. AHAHAHAHA.

Whatever, I was picturing her properly in my head. Just got the name wrong. Mrs. Gunther was grade 3. Right? Haha
