Home Again.

I’m home.

In the past 15 months, never have I needed a trip home as much as I needed this one. Since Eric visited at Thanksgiving until now was long, dragging and I’ve been dying to come home. I’ve known I was coming home for a few weeks now but I haven’t put anything on the blog or facebook because it was a surprise for Eric’s birthday tomorrow!

He had no idea I was coming and he was totally shocked when I came bounding through the door and leapt into his arms with a cry of “Happy Birthday!” His hair was sticking up and his eyes were sleepy looking but he was undeniably happy to see me and I’ve been having the best time ever since.

I’ve had two wonderful family dinners, today I am going for breakfast with an old friend who I can’t wait to catch up with and then I’m getting my hair cut and coloured by my favourite hairdresser. Tomorrow is Eric’s birthday and while he would probably prefer a quiet night in, I won’t have it. I’m a big fan of birthdays so I’ve planned a huge potlach, ping-pong tournament, rock band-fest at Eric’s place with all our family and friends!

Sorry that I’ve been MIA with commenting on your blogs. I’ve been reading them, mostly on my phone, and just haven’t had the time to comment. I’ll be back in full force on Monday.

Until then, here’s a few photo’s I’ve snapped since being here. My goal of taking more photos is going well!

My brothers dog, Lexie, (the small black one) and my mom’s dog, Murphy (the giant lab) are quite humourous. Even though she weighs 1/4 what he does, she’s kind of the boss.

We grabbed sushi at my favourite place as soon as I got in. Heaven.

We went out to Eric’s house and I took a million pictures of his adorable niece. This is my favourite. PS: look how much snow they have!

Me with my adorable baby cousin who will be one year next month!

Since I haven’t had time to do much other than skim your blogs, fill me in on what you’re up to this weekend? Any fun plans?

By the way, I was reading your post below about craving family and I was wondering, why can’t you move back home after you graduate? I love living near my family. When I was in Australia I had an awesome time but I knew when I got home that it was more important to be near my family and lifelong friends than to “see everything” (I still try to see everything on trips haha). I know people have great reasons for moving, but I have never been able to think of one good enough- people are not around forever so I might as well spend time with them while I can. Plus, I can’t part from my mom’s cooking for long :)

Welcome home, dear! I am so glad you were able to fly home & surprise Eric! Enjoy every minute of this weekend. Those pictures are awesome – is it typical for you guys to have that much snow already??? Yikes!

My weekend is sort of packed. Lots of get together w/ different groups of friends. I kind of over-booked myself, but oh well!

Have a fantastic weekend, my dear!

oh, and not much new with me. such a crazy busy stressful week with work. and now I am sitting in jury duty. ugh! but at least I can catch up on people’s blogs! as for the weekend, I will probably being going to a concert Saturday night (for this band I wrote a feature on this week– I told them I’d come. I’m far too nice, but it will be fun I think. and it’s for charity) and then Sunday I need to start making those Christmas cards! (btw, if you want I’d love to send you one!)

I’m just going to get ahead on work this weekend, but I’m going to see The Neverending Story on campus. It’s a childhood favorite of mine, so I’m looking forward to seeing it again.
