My First Magazine Article
I was having a crappy, bummy, grouchy day yesterday, which is NOT like me at all. I felt like I had a permanent frown on my face and I knew that I NEEDED to snap out of it but didn’t know how.
After class I decided to hit up the YMCA for a little yoga. After the class I felt quite a bit better, then I found a Subway coupon in my car that I forgot about and I felt a lot better, on my way to Subway I popped into the local bookstore and lookie at what was sitting on the shelf.
My first magazine article. Ever! I was SO excited to see this so I bought three copies and they’re mailing me one more. Hehe.

Do you guys remember this assignment? I had to get up at 5:00 am to go out to this guy’s house because I was flying home later that afternoon.
Anyways, this made me feel extremely giddy and pretty much put a smile on my face for the rest of the day. I’ve had a lot of bylines in newspapers but there’s something totally different about seeing your byline on the glossy pages of a magazine; even if it is just a small, local publication.
Oh, and I got two more assignments from the magazine, so I guess driving out to that guy’s place at five am was worth it.

congratulations!!! so that is SO exciting!! it really is different seeing your name for the first time in a magazine, I totally get it. I felt giddy my first time too! honestly, I still feel giddy, haha. the photos are beautiful, what a wonderful spread. to have your story featured in such a way and teased on the front cover is a great accomplishment! getting up early was so worth it!
