Wanna hear my voice?
Remember when I was interviewed by the BBC for writing this post. Well, go here and listen to the first clip on the post and you can hear me answer one of the questions from that interview!
What do you think of my voice? When I was a kid I used to HATE talking on the phone because I thought I sounded like a boy, and people always say me and my brother sound alike. I still cringe a bit when I hear myself on recordings, even on this one!
PS: I’m “Amber from Canada”

oh, this was so fun to hear your voice!! I don’t know what I expected you to sound like, but you sounded different than I thought… I think it’s because when I read your posts I am reading the words in my head in my voice… does that make sense? haha. so I thought you’d sound more like me, I guess, which I consider high pitched!
as far as you sounding like a boy, I completely disagree. I like your voice. not too high (unlike how I think mine sounds) and not too low. and you actually sound your age, which again, I don’t think I do. I absolutely hate listening back to recordings of my interview! but since I have to do it often, I’ve gotten more used to it.
anyway, so glad you could share that clip with us!
I LOVE your voice – I think it’s beautiful!!! I agree that it is PERFECT!!! You sound so classy and brilliant!! I love it!!!
Thanks for sharing this with us!!!

Oh it’s so fun to hear your voice! It really actually does match what I had imagined! Kind of funny, isn’t it?
I hate hearing my voice recorded. Hate it. I can’t even listen to it, actually. I definitely think that I tend to sound like a boy since I have more of an alto voice. Maybe someday I’ll be bold enough to post a video of myself!
Your voice is awesome! Typically I’m totally shocked by how a blogger’s voice sounds as opposed to their writer’s voice. I didn’t expect you to sound a certain way but I heard your voice and thought “oh yeah, that totally fits.”
They probably said you sounded alike because your brother probably sounded like a girl when you were younger!!!
And you totally didn’t sound like I thought.. There was no stereotypical Canadian accent that jumped out at me but I loved the BBC’s accent..
I heard that interview when you first wrote about it. Liked your voice
. I didn’t know what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised.
About the previous post – I can feel you. I live alone, away from family and friends and it’s tough. A good cry is necessary. Hang in there!
I loved it! You’re famous! I know a celebrity!
Hope you’re feeling better today. =)
Fun! I’ve never liked the sound of my voice. I’m told that I have a good voice but I cringe every time I hear it.
oh my gosh, you sounded EXACTLY how i’d always imagined!!!
So cool! It’s nice to hear your voice after “reading” it for so long!
I love being able to put a voice to a blog! Thanks for linking to that clip, too… had been looking forward to the follow-up!
I think your voice is lovely!!
I love your voice!! It’s WAY better than mine! And that’s all that my brain can think of right now because I LITERALLY just finished doing the shred…so I’m mentally shredded
Aw, I like it! It’s way cooler sounding than mine!
wow, you sound great! i expected more of an accent. my southern accent is pretty strong if you ever want to call or skype me for a laugh.
I love your voice
I can’t stand the way mine sounds, especially on the phone – I sound like I’m 12.
Awww, I love your voice! Funsies!
You don’t sound like a guy. I’m all high pitched and weird sounding. You sounded great – and very confident in what you were saying….keep on talking on the radio!
I feel the same way listening to myself talk because I have a low voice. I thought you sounded older than I expected you to sound haha…not like an old woman or anything, but more like 25 or 26 haha. Random I know. It’s weird to hear people talk when you’ve only seen their writing. I agreed with what you said too. At first I was disagreeing thinking I am pretty comfortable with my own body haha. But I guess you are right- somedays I am not. We all have bad days. Which reminds me I didn’t have a chance to post back on your last post but we all have bad days with long distance relationships too. Don’t worry, it’s going to be over before you know it!
You definitely DON’T sound anything as a boy! I don’t know what you’re talking about.
I’m not found of my voice either. I think it sounds far to high, at least when I listen to recording of it. Its weird how you think you sound completely different recorded to think that’s how you sound to everyone else.
