A few notes…
- I am now home. Love it. Don’t want to go back to Kamloops. Ever.
- Coolest thing ever happened yesterday. So you all read my blogpost about Lizzi Miller yesterday, right? If not, read it here.
- Well, apparently a producer from BBC found my blogpost and wanted to interview me for ‘World have your say’. So, yesterday (morning, my time) I was on BBC News LIVE with LIZZI MILLER! That’s right, the model that I blogged about yesterday was on the air with me and we were discussing women’s body issues along with three other women from around the world! It was SO SO cool. I am still working on finding the interview on air so I can share it with all you guys!
- One more thing on the previous note, they even live tweeted about it! Check it out: www.twitter.com/@BBC_WHYS: Amber in BC, Canada, says she felt criticisms of Lizzi were rude and derogatory: her blog asks “Aren’t women supposed to stick together?!”
- I’ve only officially been on vacation for about 36 hours as of right now and I have already been eating like crap! Whoops. I will get back to my healthy eating ways when I get back to Kamloops next week.
- I am so, so upset about Big Brother. I LOVED Jeff and I honestly think he played a better game than anyone. I actually cried a little when he got evicted last night.
- Also, on that Big Brother note, SO sad that Natalie won the damn Head of Household competition! I am now officially cheering for Michele, but I could deal with it if Kevin or Jordan won. I will be furious if Natalie wins, she doesn’t deserve it.

by the way, sorry to be MIA on commenting. I did read your last posts! I was going to say that I agree with you about the Lizzie Miller thing, we should definitely stick together! Those comments you posted are just plain mean and frankly, I am a bit shocked that other women said those things about Lizzie. I personally loved the photo! I think it is a good for magazines to show all types of bodies. I mean, c’mon, most of us do have at least a little belly roll in the lower region! rock hard, completely flat abs are NOT the norm! “normal” or “real” women come in all shapes and sizes.
also, re: your look back at your 1 year in Kamloops, I just want to say congrats! you really have done so much in just 12 months times and changed a lot as a person, a writer, a runner
. I have enjoyed following your journey for, lets see, the last 8 months or so! for me, probably my biggest transformation was when I went away to DC for a semester in college. Like you, I was away from everything and everyone I knew, making new friends, learning new things, taking on my first real job as a writer (even though it was an internship). When you are in that kind of situation, you really do grow tremendously! It’s like you are forced to
