pouty-face-hair

Lesson Learned: Never, ever wear your glasses to a hair appointment, because they will make you take them off while they cut your hair and when you put them back on again all your hair will be gone.

I hate it.

It’s NOT an inverted bob, even though I told her to keep the same shape, it’s just a regular bob and it’s short. Too short.

Whatever, it was only $10, now I just need to pray for my hair to grow. And fast.

PS: My 10K race report is coming tomorrow; for those who were asking about it!

Ohhh I learned this the hard way too… but at least your hair still looks cute! Mine was a DISASTER. I had to wear it up for 2 months. haha

Strange, I learned the exact same thing yesterday!! Yours looks cute though but definitely too short for a baby ponytail. It will grow we just need to… eat prenatal vitamins, lol.

3 erin August 19, 2009 at 8:22 AM

i think it looks cute!!!! take prenatals. i swear those things work!

4 Amy August 19, 2009 at 8:22 AM

Yuck, I hate when they don’t cut it the way you want. :( I used to get $10 haircuts and my highlights would come out like animal stripes…Hate to say it, but I think you get what you pay for :( . Sucks because hair costs sooo freakin much. :-/

But I think we’re our biggest critics, because I don’t think it looks bad AT ALL! I personally think it’s cute. Your face can definitely handle a short cut. Seriously!!! :)

Good luck with your 10K tomorrow!! I’m jealous!

If it’s any consulation I still think you look adorable… especially with the pouty face! :)

Can’t wait for the race recap!!!

Don’t let the little things get you down girl! You could be bald!!!

6 Kelly August 19, 2009 at 8:45 AM

I think it looks cute- but don’t worry it will grow back soon!

7 Becky August 19, 2009 at 9:19 AM

I too think it looks cute! But I agree, there’s nothing worse than that feeling of leaving not being confident with how your hair looks - the good news is, it will grow back! :)

8 Megan August 19, 2009 at 9:29 AM

I like it! Then again, this is pretty much how I get my hair cut. :)

9 Jenna August 19, 2009 at 9:34 AM

I think it looks cute Amber!!! But I do agree with the others, if you want it to grow fast, take prenatals. :)
xoxo

I think it looks cute!

I think it looks nice too! You have georgous color as well!

Have you ever scrunched a lot of gunk in it and pinned it back as if it was going into a bun? I think that would look kinda neat on you too. (I do that with AG’s Recoil when I have time. Even works on my long hair.)

12 Amber August 19, 2009 at 11:40 AM

I don’t think it looks bad at all! Maybe once you get used to it you will begin to like it? Sorry, Amber! :(

13 Carissa August 19, 2009 at 12:35 PM

Oh no! sorry you don’t like it! but really, I think it looks cute! I know everyone else has said that, but it’s true! maybe you can style it up somehow that’ll make you like it more. but don’t worry, it will grow back soon enough!

14 RunningLaur August 19, 2009 at 1:26 PM

It’ll be nice and cool for the rest of summer? Don’t worry, I think it’s cute :)

I learned this the hard way too - I got my hair done at a school for freshman hs homecoming, and while they were blow drying it, my hair wrapped around the back of the drier and got eaten up in the fan. It chomped down the whole my to my scalp. They had to break apart the hair drier to get me out of it. I ended up with cuts all over and a pretty bad bald / injured spot - just hours before homecoming. Pretty traumatized for sure.

Oh! Is it wrong that I love it? It’s so sweet! It’s perfectly proportioned to your face, but if you were wanting it shorter in the back I can see why you would be upset…

Okay, who am I kidding. I’m excited that we’re hair twins. lol

Feel better, miss. I once had a friend of a friend cut my hair a 1/4″ long on the sides and a 1/2″ long on the top. I cried for days. I get the feeling of “What were you thinking?!”

Hey there! Ok, first thing’s first. It doesn’t look awful, so that’s a plus, but it’s not what you asked or hoped for. I would suggest calling the place or emailing them and saying this is what I wanted, but this is what I got. Because after all, they are a teaching school. It would probably be helpful for them (the manager or the student) to know that the cut didn’t turn out correctly and why. You will in turn be helping this feature hair stylist’s career. And who wouldn’t want a little help?? Anyway, that’s my suggestion. Might make you feel like you turned it into a positive in a way. You could also preface your comments by saying “i’m not saying this in anger, but instead to help the student/stylist for her future.”

I do understand about being upset about haircuts though. The good thing is it will grow and who knows, maybe you can find some fun things to do with it with bobby pins or something??

First off - even though it isn’t what you wanted, you do still look good. But I know that is not the point. I just had my hair cut/colored by a stranger & hated how it turned out. People keep saying - ‘but it looks good’ but my whole issue is that is doesn’t look how I wanted it to! So I feel your pain, my dear. :(

I think the pre-natal suggestion is a good one. except make sure to tell Eric that is why you are taking them so he doesn’t think you have other plans in the near future. hee hee ;)

18 Jen August 19, 2009 at 4:21 PM

I agree! I think it looks cute!!! But it looks shorter than what you wanted.

It should grow back soon!! Book now for an appointment with your regular stylist in 6-8 weeks!!!

19 Jennifer - Somewhere In Between August 19, 2009 at 5:28 PM

Your hair still looks adorable!! But I know the feeling of wanting it longer. It’s cute for fall!!! (ugh I can’t believe fall is coming so sooooon)

20 Kait August 19, 2009 at 6:19 PM

Okay I think it’s precious on you! But your advice is sound, lol! I’ve done the same thing before - wearing my glasses and immediately regretting it in the chair. I have a stylist that I would trust with my life, tho. ;) Just got my “did” for the fall, and although she did exactly what I asked for, it’s taking me a moment to adjust to, too…. PS Your color is so beautiful!

21 shoshanah August 19, 2009 at 8:15 PM

I like it! But even if you don’t, like you said it was only $10, and it’ll grow out

22 H-woman August 19, 2009 at 11:06 PM

I like it, too, but if it’s not what you asked for, that sucks. Did you tell her?

I always wear my contacts for haircuts, it’s just easier to see it while it’s happening so you can stop it before it gets that short!

Good luck in the 10K!
H =)

23 Lo August 19, 2009 at 11:06 PM

Don’t worry Amber, your hair looks cute. It will grow out faster than yo u think. Best of luck at your race!

24 Jessica August 20, 2009 at 2:12 AM

I like it a lot! You’re adorable.

25 sarah marie p August 20, 2009 at 2:36 AM

I think your hair looks super cute … but I totally get how it goes when you’re just SO unhappy with how your hair turned out — even if nobody else notices the so called flaws. I’m so sorry your were disappointed with how the appointment turned out, and that the hairdresser didn’t listen to you. Grrr! I have left many hair appointments in tears (well, once I got to the safety of my car.) Dang, I need to get some prenatal vitamins too. My hair grows soooo slow.

26 Mia {runs and rests} August 20, 2009 at 2:44 AM

I like it A LOT! :D
Yay, love race reports!

27 Jessie August 21, 2009 at 10:33 AM

I think it’s cute!

28 Ali August 21, 2009 at 1:05 PM

I like it. It looks great on you!
