Summer is….

First, thank you so much for all of your wonderful comments on my last post. I was feeling antsy about putting that out there. I always forget about the overwhelming support of the blogosphere. You guys are amazing.

Eric and I spent the weekend in a small town – actually town’s not the correct word, more like village – in South-Eastern B.C. visiting his sister and her kids. There was no cell service (no email), we were smack dab in the middle-of-nowhere. It was wonderful. We spent two days lying on the beach, building sand castles, swimming in the lake and roasting hot dogs and marshmallows. Bliss.

I also had the chance to test out my new Nikon D60 that I got on Friday. Love. I took almost 300 pictures but I won’t bore you with all of them.

I’ll let the pictures tell the rest of the story…

Summer is…

…taking your time on roadtrips and enjoying the scenery.

Summer is…

…time at the beach. With family.

Summer is…

…building sandcastles.

Summer is…

…handstand contests and jumping off shoulders.

Summer is…

Summer is…

…swinging off the tarzan rope.

Summer is…

…hiking in flip-flops to enjoy some natural beauty.

Summer is…

…precious moments.

Summer is…

…sleeping in a tent.

Summer is…

…campfire stories.

These are just a few things that represent summer to me.

What represents summer to you?

PS: I really admire people who do photo posts all the time, this took FOREVER!!!!

yeah, photo posts are a pain in the butt, having to upload anything to wordpress is kinda tedious, but it always looks nice.

summer is definitely laying by the beach in a secluded woodsy area. you pretty much hit the nail on the head! that little waterfall is so beautiful.

Tidbit about Nora: I’m terrified of Tarzan ropes.
I can’t jump off them for some reason. Ridiculous, right?
Eric’s nephews are SOO tan and totally adorable! Glad you had a great weekend =)

Summer to me is bbq’s, hiking, camping and the smell and sound of a lawnmower 🙂

  13. Sassy says:

So fun to have a new camera! I’m feeling the need to bust out my big camera again. Summer is smelling fresh cut grass and walking in it bare foot. Summer is wearing tank tops and short skirts and not caring that you look 5 years younger than you are. Summer is swimming in a cool lake. Summer is drinking a few beers by the campfire with your best friends.

For me, summer is being active, sweating (not necessarily while being active), seeing friends, traveling, and a hint of disappointment because I never get to do all that I want to do 🙂

To me summer is… spending time on the boat out on the lake with a beer in hand. Laying out by the pool and always having a great tan. Flip flops 24/7. Always smelling like sunscreen or coconut.
