I got this little gem from Lisa and Sassy the other day:

The recipient of this award must list seven traits about themselves and then pass it on to seven other bloggers.
And GO!
1. I’m probably one of the most messy-organized people you will ever meet. I appear very organized on the outside. If you come over, my apartment will be immaculate. BUT don’t open any drawers or closets because BAM that is where I hide my messy side. Think Monica’s secret closet on Friends.
2. I have a giant sweet tooth. I crave something sweet after every meal, even breakfast!
3. I actually really enjoy cooking. This is something I’ve only begun to learn about myself over the last year or so, since living in my own apartment with Eric. When I come home from a long day at work or school, putting together a meal really relaxes me. However, that does not mean I’m a good cook.
4. On that last note, I have a tendency to undercook chicken. SO bad I know. In fact, it’s so bad that Eric will no longer eat chicken I cook unless I have cooked it in small chunks - so chicken strips, or chicken pieces on a salad. No full chicken breasts, though. I’m not sure why it happens, I either undercook or overcook it. It’s very rare for me to cook a chicken breast perfectly.
5. I wouldn’t say I’m super-stylish, but I wouldn’t say I’m super un-stylish either. I like my clothes to match and there are certain things I won’t do: I won’t wear a big necklace AND big earrings together, I won’t wear brown shoes with black pants, I won’t wear anything that squeezes and gives me muffin top, if I’m wearing coloured shoes I always try to make sure they tie in with another part of my outfit or else stand out on a neutral outfit-I would never wear, say, a bright blue shirt with red shoes.
6. I smell books. It’s true, I’ve always done it, one of the first things I do when I get my hands on a book is smell it - new or old. I LOVE the smell of new books, and I also LOVE the smell of some old books.
7. I don’t like to have a shower unless it’s washing off sweat. That’s why I like working out in the mornings, if I get up and don’t work out and have a shower I feel weird showering because I wasn’t sweating beforehand. I almost feel “icky” as weird as that sounds!!
OK, I’m going to pass this onto these blogs:
Through Green Eyes
Learning to Hear Again
From LA to L.A.
Live, Love and Peanut Butter
Runs and Rests
A Country Girl’s Life
CAUTION: Redhead Running
Everyone else, tell me one or two traits about YOU?

Yay! Thanks for picking me to do this! How fun!
I’m totally with ya on 1, 2, 6! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, we def have some random things in common!
Alright now I must go figure out what random facts I will share!
Thanks again girl!
Ok this means i have to blog tonight. i meant to last night.. but i have to finish a book before the weekend. I’ll do it all tonight!
omg i smell books too! i love old yearbooks and how they smell! lol
xoxo
lo
To fully cook the chicken, put a lid on the pan and add a little water (that is, if you’re cooking it on the stove). Once it’s fully cooked you can brown it a bit with the lid off. Chicken doneness is difficult to gauge for sure!
I have a major sweet tooth for sure and keep lots of mini chocolate bars around. I eat about 3 per day. I also love fruit because it’s sweet!
Also, I like wearing socks better than I like bare feet. And I enjoy podcasts just as much or more than music.
Hey there Amber… very interesting facts indeed!
Just wanted to stop by and leave you some blog lovin’. I read your blog daily in Google Reader, but don’t comment nearly enough!
Happy Thursday.
I feel the same way about showers. Nothing feels better after a long sweaty workout than a good shower.
These random facts are so fun to read. I still need to try to buy that “In the Library” perfume. I never made it to the store in NYC…
I am a nervous nelly about undercooking chicken, so mine always seems to be well done!!
hey hey, we’re similar on the fashion thing. Safe, but fun at the same time. Yeah, still not comfortable wearing black and brown together even if some fashionistas can get away with it. NOT ME! And with colors, I tread carefully…also trying to match to another piece in my outfit.
Ooh, and i love the smell of books. if only i could afford to buy them more often.
but i do suppose i have enough on my bookshelves that need reading at the moment.
Love the interesting facts. It’s fun to learn about other bloggers. Annnndddd….I smell books, too
The smell of a bookstore? OMG
I can totally agree on the shower thing. To me it is a huge production. Probably because I HATE DOING MY HAIR (cuz I am not good at it). So I must do my hair IMMEDIATELY after showering if it’s going to be done at all. Pain in my ass when I am not going to be doing something. I am not a stinky person so, currently if I do not work out or am not going anywhere I just don’t. I guess the perks of the unemployed? I did just shwoer today cuz I hadn’t showered since Tuesday (yuck I know) and figured the hubby would be grossed out if I didn’t. But I mean my hair was still good and I didn’t smell and no one was gonna see me. What’s the point? I guess I’m a dirty kind of girl who hates dirt.
I totally relate to No. 2! Sometimes eating a nice, savory breakfast I think, man, I wish I had a donut! haha. I didn’t always have such a sweet tooth. But lately, I always want something sweet too– ice cream, fro yo, chocolate, even sweet coffee drinks like a vanilla latte or something. this is a bad habit I’ve developed, for sure!
as far as cooking chicken goes, I was always nervous about it at first, never knowing when it was done, so I started buying thin cut chicken breasts. They are like half the thickness. You could just halve regular sized ones too, I think the thin cut ones might cost a little more… But I just love the thin cut ones because they cook much faster and there’s not much of a risk of burning the outside without fully cooking the inside. I only buy regular sized breasts if I am cooking them in the oven; the thin cut ones go on my grill pan, which I just love.
ok, fun fact time? I don’t think this is that strange or uncommon, but I hate wearing clothes at home. whenever I am home, which is a lot since I work at home, I pretty much look like a bum because I am in PJs or sweats. right now I am wearing my jeans still cuz I just got home, but I assure you, the minute I stop typing, I am going to go grab my boyfriend’s pajama shorts
a girl’s gotta be comfortable, right?
I caught Irish smelling a book the other day. It made me laugh out loud. But I do it too…
Congrats on the award. Great list.
Also, we need to find a way to have a blogger meet-up. or push Kamloops and StL, MO closer together!!!
I am the same way with showering, particularly on the weekend. If for some reason I don’t work out on the weekend, I probably will not shower. Haha
Of course I just read your comment, and its 8pm so Big Brother is over. Next week I’ll try! Although I did try watching the first season which was on in… 2000. (Almost 10 years ago? Its been on that long?) I wasn’t a fan then, but I’m assuming its gotten better.
Also, I thought I had commented on this earlier. Clearly I was too excited to write my list, and forgot! Oops. But I am now!
haha I loved this! - “Monica’s secret closet” I’m kind of a “neat freak” but this slightly unorganized side that shows its head every now and then.
and the book-smell is one of the best! I hear ya.
Cool, I’m going to have to think of a few traits
I have to admit that cooking chicken sort of scares me in that regard also…:S
My husband ALWAYS smells books!!! I always laugh at him (but I secretly do it too!!!)
And I think you are stylish!!! You named some VERY key things!!! (Though you could wear red shoes with a blue shirt…as long as the blue is cobalt or navy!!!)
I laughed at the thought of the secret closet!
