Why curiosity killed the cat…

by MissAmber on March 3, 2009 · 10 comments

in Webster, pets

I don’t think you can fully understand that statement until you get a cat.

Webster in the dishwasher.

Webster in the washing machine.

Doing “down dog” on my yoga mat. (aka: Scratching the shit out of it). This is when I want to kill him.

If it’s something he can climb INSIDE of and I open it, you can bet he’s in there asap. Things I haven’t caught on camera but have happened lately:

- Singeing his whiskers by sticking his face in a lit candle, three of his whiskers are shorter than the rest now.

- Getting locked in the fridge for almost a full minute. I grabbed something out of the fridge, he jumped in when I wasn’t looking, I kicked the door shut behind me, approx. one minute later I open the fridge again and almost have a heart attack when Webster hops out. You’d think he’d have learned his lesson, but no, he continues climbing into things.

- Getting locked under the bathroom cupboard with all the crazy cleaners and chemicals. He jumps in there when we open the door to grab the mouthwash or I grab my blow dryer, then he scurries to the back corner of the cupboard so I can’t see him when I shut the door. He’s done that a few times lately.

I now believe that curiosity really did kill the cat and thank god they have nine lives..

What kind’s of funny/mischievous things do your pets do? (Kids count as pets. Kidding, kidding.)

LMAO what a fun post!! I like how he was in the fridge! or the pic of him in the washer!! My friend Cindy has a cat and its always doing crazy things like jumping in the dish washer. I personally am not a cat person, I don’t mind other peoples cats but i would never own one, unless we lived on a farm and it was an out door cat…ok just to be clear i don’t hate cats i just don’t like pet fur/hair all over…we always had cats on the farm and they were always Shawns….lol I love dogs but Steve and I don’t have the time or the patients right now for a pet. We kinda have fish…lol ok we had fish and then when we moved last May we gave them to our friends but they seem to think that they’re just babysitting them….lol its funny…so when we move into the new house i think they might give them back.

This totally crackd me up.
Jack doesn’t get into a lot of trouble anymore but he does love to:
* shred tissues. He won’t eat them; he just makes a neat little pile of shredded tissues next to him
* Stand right next to me when I’m cooking in the kitchen which pretty much guarantees I’m going to fall over him
* He does get locked in my parents laundry room on occasion (they keep their dog food in there so he goes sniffing around)
* Also when we are at my parents he sneaks into their trash and eats whatever remaining food is left, which guarantees I’m stuck with a sick dog for a few days

Adorable cat!

Libby is just like Webster!!! She loves water too… her favorite place is the shower right after you get out it’s weird!!
Also when I’m doing laundry she will stand on top of the washer and bat at the water. She also gets in the dryer. I double, triple and quadruple check she is not in there when I turn it on!

that washing machine pic is a hoot! too funny. our kids do funny stuff all the time, and get into funny things. you don’t want to know what’s been flushed down our toilet.

That’s too funny- I have a set of pictures of tigger ust like this too. It’s mostly “Tigger in my way”. Tigger sitting on the laundry I’m trying to fold. Tigger in the bathtub when I want to shower. Tigger on my office chair when I want to work. Cats love being in two places most: 1) in the way and 2) wherever they aren’t supposed to be. And yet we love them anyway.

Webster is such a cutie too. He looks so adorable in the washing machine!

Awwww I used to have a cat :) He used to freak if I ever tried putting him in the bathroom. He never wanted to go in there. He would run back and forth for no reason (or at least I didn’t SEE a reason for him to run like crazy).

He was a sleepy, calm cat from what I remembered.

I love cats!!! My cat used to sleep anywhere there was a blanket, sweater, towel. It didn’t matter. If it was out of place she was on it. Try putting down a piece of blank paper on the floor 9 times out of 10 your cat will sit on that piece of paper out of the entire house! Cracks me up everytime!!
Cute Cat!!

Hahaha! I LOVE this post. This is so like my cat. Maybe I’ll follow my cat around for a day and do a similar post. My cat drinks out of the toilet….she thinks she is a dog!
