Surprise: I’m home!

in family, friends, home

As you guy’s know I’m currently on my reading break. My mom really wanted me to come home for the break but I kind of wanted to stay in Kamloops and relax, especially since I was home for a whole month in December!

About a month ago I was lying around the house on a Saturday, Eric was playing some game on his xbox and I was bored. So bored. If I couldn’t even get through one day with nothing to do how was I ever going to get through a week. I had a credit with CMA because when Eric and I flew home at Christmas we had to switch our flights over to WestJet because CMA wouldn’t let us bring Webster on the plane a day earlier than January 6 (we were flying back on January 5, it was ridiculous).

So I booked a flight home! I was just picking up the phone to call my mom and tell her I’d be coming home over reading break after all but then I changed my mind. I decided I would surprise my parents! I couldn’t write about it on the blog because my parents read my blog! (My mom designed it.)

That month flew by and this morning I got in a cab at 6:00 a.m. and headed out to the airport. My friend Kristy picked me up in Fort St. John and we went out for lunch then she dropped me off at my mom’s house since I knew she was on day’s off. I stood on the doorway with my mom’s big red suitcase and rang the doorbell a few times.

Finally, she came to the door in her pajama’s. She was SO shocked, she was laughing and crying and immediately phoned my grandma who said I was a “nut”. Haha. I haven’t seen my dad yet but I can’t wait to surprise him too!

So I’m home for a few days and it feels SO good to be here. I miss my friends and family from home a lot and I’m looking forward to spending a few days with them, my BFF, Jen, is coming from GP on Saturday and I can’t wait to hang out with her. It’s so nice being in the company of people who really know you and have known you for a long time! I will miss my boys back in Kamloops though, especially Webster

Have a great weekend everyone! XO

what a cool mom to design your blog! she’s really good at it too. My mom was complaining the other day that she didn’t know how to read our blogs. so my idiot brother showed her now she calls after every post. my folks only live 6 miles away and they never come here to visit, but do complain if i don’t bring the kids by often enough.

That’s so awesome of you to just book a flight out to visit your parents as a surprise. My Dad only lives 45 mins away by car so it’s not that much of a surprise if I just show up at his house. Enjoy your time at home!
