I didn’t go swimming last night. Boo. I was really down about it at first but I had a raging headache all day and my butt was hella sore from walking on an incline on the treadmill the day before.
I feel crappy. I’m still sick and I had the shittiest sleep ever last night. I think nights are the worst when you’re sick, it’s so hard to sleep when your head is all stuffed up! So I’m not going to class this morning, I got up early too make Eric breakfast and coffee (it’s our anniversary today) and make tea for myself. As soon as I’m done this blog and drinking my tea I’m going back to bed and I’m hoping to wake up feeling more refreshed in a few hours.
I really, really don’t want to miss my workout today. I’m going to do an hour of yoga no matter what but I had a 4.5 mile run scheduled and I don’t want to miss it. Ahh. I’ll see how I feel later. This is my fifth week of training and I haven’t missed one single workout yet, so I feel uber guilty about missing now!!
How bad is it to miss workouts when you’re training? (I have 12 weeks left till the half-marathon).
OK, and here’s the other part of the blog, I’ve finally succumbed to this little survey that is floating around the blogosphere and facebook, lame I know but being sick and all I couldn’t think of a decent blog topic, so here it goes.
25. It’s mine and Eric’s four-year anniversary. Today.
24. I’m a natural redhead.
23. I love apples, I eat at least one if not two or three a day.
22. I hated red wine when I first started drinking it. I had to force myself to drink it, now I love it.
21. Every cell phone I’ve ever had has been pink.
20. My first car was a bright yellow Dodge neon. My advice to you, don’t get a bright coloured car unless your sure you love it. Like really love it.
19. I have seen every single episode of Friends, at least three times.
18. Before I decided to go into journalism I wanted to be a Veterinarian and then a Marine Biologist, in that order.
17. The first animal I ever got attached to was my horse Tober (short for October) that I got when I was 11. I loved her.
16. I plan on getting another horse one day. I love riding horses even though I haven’t rode one for over six years.
15. I’ve had the same best friend since I was five, we met the first day of Kindergarten and have been BFF’s ever since.
14. I went on my first “diet” when I was eight.
13. I feel better about myself now then I ever have before.
12. I’m not superstitious.
11. I have freckles everywhere. My face, back, knees, elbows…butt.
10. I’m very chatty and I love meeting people that I ‘click’ with and can just talk and talk with. I love talking!
09. I was born on the 9th day of the 9th month at 9 o’clock and I weighed 9 pounds. True story. This year I will be turning 21 on 09.09.09, I think something special is in order?
08. I have a dolphin tattoo on my right ankle, I don’t regret it because it’s a tattoo I always wanted to get
07. I have a maple leaf on my left shoulder, it’s crooked and I do regret it.
06. I have no interest whatsoever in becoming a vegetarian, I’m a meat girl and proud of it.
05. I want to travel the world but some places I must go before I die are: Scotland, France, Spain, Italy, China, Japan, Thailand, Australia, and travel around the U.S. and Canada more!
04. I’ve travelled to California and Germany already. I really want to take Eric to Disneyland because I LOVED it.
03. I LOVE shopping and fashion.
02. I’m not a picky eater, in fact I honestly can’t think of something I don’t like to eat. Hmmm. Oh, dates, Eric bought a big tub of dates the other day and I found them completely disgusting.
01. I’m a morning person. Really, I am. It’s hard to get out of bed initially but once I’m up and about I’m fairly pleasant/happy in the mornings. It’s also when I get the most done.
If you feel like it do this on your own blog, if not then don’t, whatev.
Did you learn anything new about me that surprised you?
I’m going back to bed. Have a good day

loved your facts! what this is DEFINITELY your year! its going to be a great one, i jus tknow it
I have freckles everywhere too! I think the whole 9 thing must be your lucky number or something because thats a whole lot of 9’s going on!
That 9 thing is so intriguing!!
It is definitely ok to miss a work out here or there when training. Trust me on this. It's been to miss a workout when you are feeling ill v. doing it, because that could set you back even further & cause you to miss even more workouts. So don't be too hard on yourself! I hope that you feel better soon!!
I love reading these '25 things'. It's so interesting to get some insight into other people, especially people that you don't actually 'know'!
Great list. i do think you should blow it out for your 21st birthday.
and red hair and freckles? you must have some irish in your family history. The flynn’s are all irish. in fact, the first one in my family line was william flynn, who came from county cork ireland in 1842. we’ll drink you under the table too.
WOW! I love this!!!! I also realize that we have a lot in common (both chatty, would never be vegetarians, wanted to be a marine biologist, pink cellphones!)
I keep getting tagged to do this list on facebook…perhaps I should look into it!!
First of all, love your blog! AND happy anniversary to you and Eric! Four years is a big deal!! That’s exciting.
Happy 4 year anniversary!
Loved reading your little facts- too funny about your birthday. I hope you get to feeling all better and remember that if your body is struggling, let it heal. Take care!

Soooooo ok to miss a workout…get some sleep and feel better : ) I love reading little tidbits like this. I’m a freckle girl too and proud of it! Thanks for all of the nice notes over the last few days. Oh, and the Z-pack is the best thing if your cold gets really bad (I know..antibiotics are supposedly not the best options, but sometimes it’s necessary).
Just wanted to say hi! I recently got a blog after following yours for a bit! Knowing that you’re training so hard really makes me want to push and do that tiny 3 mile run lol!
Oh and ps: I totally know what you mean about the nutella…
Happy Anniversary!!!
HAPPY anniversary…and I LOVE your natural red hair.
I thought you were older than 20 =)
Great facts. Love this little meme; mine is posting on Saturday.
Happy 4 years to you and Eric!
Also, please skip the workouts until you’re feeling better? Seriously, especially since it’s winter, it’s just going to take your immune system a lot longer to recover if you work out when you’re really sick. Then you’ll be having sub-par workouts for weeks instead of taking 3-4 days off and being able to jump right back into it. While I may not be the best at sticking to exercise at the moment, I am a Kinesiology major and know how it works. (/end lecture)
Oh, and I don’t think I’m a picky eater either. I’ll eat almost anything and like it. AB on the other hand always makes fun of me for being picky. Really I’m just being a girl/healthy (picking whole grains over white bread, tomato sauce over cream etc. etc.) I like those things I’d just rather not eat them!
Caz–good point, I can be very picky when it comes to healthy food. I always pick whole-grains over white and tomatoe sauces over cream sauces as well. I never thought of it that way. That being said, I enjoy almost all food even if I try not to eat it too often!
I am taking a few day off running, doing some gentle yoga instead! Thanks for the advice though
Hi! I found your blog from the blogs at Glamour. I wanted to say, even though I forgot to put it on my list
, my birthday is 10/10. And I also want to do something huge for my 26th birthday on 10/10/10.
hehe, the majority of my cell phones have been pink too. If they weren’t pink, I bought a pink case for it!
I loved your list and I really like your blog! I found you from another Amber (A Little Pink in the Cornfields). This is my second attempt to leave a comment–hopefully, it won’t duplicate!
