Instead of doing homework and cleaning yesterday, I decided to browse through blogs. There are SO many wonderful blogs out there, I wish I had time to read them ALL! Anyways, during my browsing I stumbled on the 20SB Biggest Loser Challenge, it’s being put on by Rachel and Sarah (two fantastic blogs that I just found yesterday). I immediately signed up. I now have even more reason to stay on top of my diet and exercise.

Speaking of eating, scheduling my meals last week worked AWESOME! I did really well eating wise. I stayed between 1700-1800 calories everyday, except yesterday, and I lost two pounds! I felt it was a good technique so last night I made up another, slightly modified, menu for this week. Of course, since I did so well I had to have my one cheat meal so last night I made Eric and I burgers, fries and Caesar salad. It was delish.

Saturday I dragged my butt to the gym for my scheduled five-mile run. It was cold out this weekend, -18 C, so I did my run on the treadmill. I don’t venture outside in anything colder than – 10 C. I was really, really dreading this run. I am not a fan of the treadmill, it’s boring. But, luckily for me, it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be, I listened to my music and watched a little TV and varied between 6.0-6.5 MPH the whole time. I ended up running the full five miles in about 48 minutes so just under a 10 min/mile pace. Last week I ran 11.5 miles total, which means I only have 471.5 to go! Towards the end of the run, my knees really started bothering me again so as per your guy’s advice I headed over to Runner’s Sole and got myself some new kicks.

They measured my foot and watched me walk and jog on the spot to determine which shoes would be best for me. Apparently, my feet collapse inward as I’m walking or running. I don’t remember the technical term for it. Anyways, they brought me about six different pairs of shoes to try on and the Mizuno Wave Inspire 4’s felt the best. I’m going to try them out on the track on Tuesday and if they don’t feel right then I can exchange them within 14 days. Runner’s Sole was such a cute little store, they have tons of nice running gear.

After I purchased my new shoes, I headed over to Starbucks and had a piece of their reduced-fat chocolate cake. 270 calories and 6 grams of fat later I was completely satisfied. Then I met up with Eric and we bought our weekly stock of groceries and did some shopping for our baby kitty!
We ended up getting him a little blue hoodie! Isn’t it freaking cute? He does look pissed in that picture though.

How was everyone else’s weekend? If you haven’t already, then you should sign up for the 20sb Biggest Loser Challenge! Happy Monday!

PS: This post is full of exclamation marks I just noticed. I am wayy too cheerful for a Monday morning….

Webster also needs a new pair of running shoes to go with that adorable hoodie! I joined Rachel’s challenge…great suggestion.

Pronating…the official term for when your feet roll inward when you run. Sounds like you’re doing great on the eating/work out plan!

I'm new to your blog, but had to comment on your shoe choice. I love Mizuno's. They are the best. My sister & best friend both also run in them now, too. They are heavenly. I think I like them since they are incredibly light weight? Not sure. But they are fabulous!

Just found your blog over at DailyGoods! Thought I’d stop in and say hi! Also, apples, chocolate, and wine would be top picks for me as well;)

It’s called Pronation when your feet roll in like that. And Supination if they roll out. Glad I’m putting my Kin degree to good use!!
haha

hey! i think its great we are both training, have blogs and study journalism lol..its going good. I only did about 5.5 miles sunday instead of the required 7 because I already ran like 30 miles that week and the treadmill doesn’t go past 60 minutes on time…how do you fix that to run longer?
